Want to be part of transforming road freight? Einride is showing the world a new way to move, based on the latest digital, autonomous and electric technologies. We build the technology that hauls freight efficiently, and we put it to work for the world's leading manufacturers, retailers, logistics providers and defense organizations, all working toward a future where moving goods cost less for our customers, and less for the planet.

Founded in 2016, Einride became the first company in the world to deploy a cab-less autonomous electric vehicle on a public road (Sweden, 2019). In 2022, we were the first to successfully operate such a vehicle on a U.S. public road. In June 2026, Einride became a publicly listed company on Nasdaq, a milestone that reflects a decade of turning what once looked like science fiction into everyday reality. Today, our technology moves freight across North America, Europe, and the Middle East for some of the world's biggest shippers.

You will:

  • Formulate and execute proactive legislative and regulatory strategies to enable driverless autonomous freight operations across target markets.
  • Build and maintain high impact relationships with key decision makers across the U.S. Congress, USDOT, NHTSA, FMCSA, and relevant state regulators.
  • Represent Einride in industry associations, policy coalitions, and regulatory workshops to shape industry wide transport and autonomous vehicle standards.
  • Partner with internal Autonomous Technology, Safety, and Legal teams to translate technical systems and safety cases into compelling policy positions.
  • Coordinate policy strategy across target U.S. states and identify relevant federal and state grant opportunities.
  • Provide strategic policy alignment across global initiatives, serving as an advisor on European regulatory developments and international market expansion as needed.

We expect you to:

  • Extensive senior level public policy background, with a strong preference for expertise at the intersection of autonomous technology and freight mobility.
  • Prior experience working within the U.S. government, particularly USDOT, key regulatory agencies, or relevant Congressional committees.
  • An established, trusted network across Capitol Hill, executive branch agencies, and the broader D.C. transport policy ecosystem.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with a proven track record of translating complex regulatory and technical concepts for policymakers.
  • Exposure to European transport policy, international regulatory bodies (e.g., EU frameworks, UNECE), or global government affairs strategy is a plus.

What we offer:

  • Competitive salary and incentive program
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • The salary range is between 260-310k

This is a full-time position based in Washington DC. We recommend that you submit your application as soon as possible since selection and interviews are held continually.

Please note that as part of our standard recruitment process, we conduct a background control on the final candidate for this role. This may include verification of education, employment history, any relevant professional certifications or other information that may be of our interest.
