Job Summary
We are looking for omeone to lead the structural design of vehicle systems across both composite and metallic architectures. This is a senior technical leadership role accountable for building and directing a high-performing structural design team, defining design solutions and layouts for structural components and assemblies, and ensuring designs are manufacturable, weight-efficient, and cost-effective from concept through Start of Production (SOP) and into series production. CAE/simulation, materials engineering, and homologation/certification are owned by adjacent functions; this role partners closely with them but does not own those disciplines

Key Responsibilities

    • Own the structural design strategy and architecture for vehicle systems across both composite (prepreg carbon fiber/fiberglass) and metallic (steel, aluminum) domains — monocoque/body structures, crash structures, subframes, closures, and body-in-white
    • Lead and grow a structural design team, setting design standards, workflows, and quality expectations
    • Direct the creation of structural design layouts, CAD models, and detailed drawings, ensuring design intent is clearly translated into manufacturable parts and assemblies
    • Partner closely with CAE/simulation teams to translate analysis outputs (stiffness, crash, durability,
    • Partner with manufacturing, tooling, and supply chain teams to ensure structural designs are industrialized at target volumes and cost
    • Lead multi-material joining design (composite-to-metal, metal-to-metal interfaces), including joint layout, fastener/bonding strategy, and design detailing
    • Coordinate with the homologation/certification function to ensure design decisions support regulatory and certification requirements, without owning the certification process itself
    • Partner closely with CAE/simulation teams to translate analysis outputs (stiffness, crash, durability, NVH) into design changes and iterate structural geometry accordingly

Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Aerospace, Automotive, or Structural Engineering; advanced degree preferred
    • Experience at an OEM, startup, or Tier 1 supplier delivering mixed-material structural designs at production volume; motorsport or aerospace structures background
    • 5+ years of experience in structural design engineering, with 2+ years in a leadership role
    • Deep hands-on experience designing with prepreg carbon fibre composites and metallic structures (steel, aluminum) in automotive or aerospace applications
      • Proven track record delivering structural designs through the full vehicle development lifecycle (concept to SOP)

About the company

At Zenvo we engineer, design, develop and build some of the most extreme and fastest cars on the planet. We proudly offer our products to a select few customers who only want the best of everything in life, we call it an ‘Equilibrium of Extremes’. Zenvo customers know that the car they own will be the only one of its kind in the world, no single Zenvo is the same. At Zenvo we are a highly dynamic, international, and multicultural team of experienced professionals.

Danish by designChief designer Christian Brandt and his team take inspiration from the rich history of Danish design, thanks to the principles of masters like Arne Jacobsen that focus on the use of negative space.

IndividualityCompleted in 2008, our first prototype would become the Zenvo ST1, a supercharged and turbocharged car that today sits proudly at the factory in Præstø where it was built. The next model was the TS1 that was powered by a twin supercharged V8.

The futureAt the beginning of 2023 we publicly announced Aurora, a new chapter in the story of Zenvo Automotive. A V12 quad-turbocharged hypercar packaged in a sophisticated yet beautiful, carbon monocoque chassis. Just 100 Aurora models will be built and will mark the start of the future of Zenvo’s intentions as Denmark’s only hypercar brand.
