Community Manager

To continually engage a broad community of stakeholders, MEST members, partners, EIT’s and portfolio companies who will help MEST thrive, building a network of allies that will champion the MEST brand.

Key Responsibilities:


  • To own the MEST community stakeholder map.

  • To design and develop community activities such as events/workshops/programs/experiences to meet the needs of all MEST community Members.

  • To enable the MEST co-working space to be at optimal capacity through the constant presence within the ecosystem engagement – online, direct marketing and community events and information sharing.

  • Supporting the Operations Manager with day to day running of the Incubator, events and program ops, admin and accounting. Ensuring that the incubator is running at optimal levels for all that use the space.

  • Revenue generation – to maintain and monitor set monthly income whilst directly generating revenue from alternative revenue streams such as events, programs, consulting.


  • To define detailed localized marketing and social media strategy for content and community outreach.

  • Ensure continual alignment with central marketing strategy and adapt to the specific market and environmental changes.


  • EIT Recruitment: Working with the Recruitment Manager to support constant market engagement, monthly recruitment sessions and localized marketing strategy in order to ensure a flow of quality applications to the MEST Training Program.

  • Portfolio Support: Engaging portfolio companies for localized support

Skills & Requirements


  • 5 years of experience in community outreach/event planning/marketing within entrepreneurial environments.

  • 2 years of experience with communications on the continent or in developing markets.

  • 1 year of experience working within global teams and cross cultures.

  • Good understating of accounting principles, accounting software and financial literacy.
