Job Description
At Lylli, we believe that every child should grow up with stories that spark curiosity, joy, and imagination. Our app makes reading magical through thousands of children’s books and personalized stories, helping families all over the world discover the joy of reading together.
We’re now looking for a Digital Product Designer to join us in bringing the joy of reading to millions of families worldwide.
What you’ll do:
As the Digital Product Designer at Lylli, you are responsible for shaping the product experience end-to-end, from early discovery and concept development to final delivery. In this role, you work at the heart of a tight, cross-functional team where Product, UX, UI, development, and business needs converge. You are a true team player who understands that the best solutions arise from collaboration rather than personal preference; you are expected to contribute your expertise and experience across various projects, even in areas where you are involved but do not have primary ownership.
You are a pragmatic, self-directed designer who builds smart, scalable solutions—using automation, templates, and sharp prioritization to keep team workflows running smoothly.
Success at Lylli means being open to and seeking feedback, navigating trade-offs with professional maturity, and aligning your designs with data-driven insights and business goals. By combining product strategy and emerging technologies with a collaborative approach to design, focusing on balancing business objectives with long-term user value.
Tasks:
- Design excellent kids-first experiences: Deliver polished, high-quality, implementation-ready UI across platforms with strong attention to detail, usability, accessibility, and visual consistency. This includes feature development, as well as content discovery. Ensuring a strict “kids first” perspective.
- Rapid Prototyping & MVP: Use AI-driven workflows and "vibe coding" to bridge the gap between design and implementation, enabling faster experimentation and delivery of MVPs.
- Collaboration: work closely with UX research and engineering teams throughout implementation to ensure high-quality execution and scalable technical solutions. And managing stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation and company alignment.
The same applies to our Content team, in order to shape how content is structured, surfaced, curated, and experienced within the product.
- Full-service delivery: Lead our digital product UI initiatives while setting up reusable frameworks and assets to maintain brand coherence across external touchpoints with minimal overhead, from web design and social ads to email send-outs. In our lean team, you'll impact key brand discussions as well as setting up automated design assets that deliver broad impact without sacrificing product focus.
- Design Operations: Help define and maintain design quality standards and visual consistency across product and selected brand-related touchpoints. This is done by using tools like Figma, Weavy, Lovable and other AI-enabled tools for building experiences. More specifically, by maintaining the Figma infrastructure and a product design system you ensure an efficient and scalable delivery across the organization.
- Trend & Tech Monitoring: Stay updated on industry trends and AI tools, training the team on how to implement smarter ways of working, from a design perspective. To ensure that design operations remain modern and efficient.
Responsibilities:
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Develop and iterate on solutions using reader data and usability testing, setting aside personal opinions to advocate for the child’s actual behavior and needs.
- End-to-end Ownership: Drive product initiatives from discovery to delivery, taking feedback and business needs into account. Thereby holding responsibility for both the plan and the pixel-perfect execution.
- Quality Assurance: Own the visual and functional quality of the user experience, collaborating with developers to ensure shipped builds match design intent, feel intuitive, and maintain high craft across all devices.
- Independent Prioritization: Operate independently, setting priorities that align with the company roadmap while escalating risks to leadership when necessary.
What we are looking for:
- Experience: 5 years of work experience with digital product design in a cross-functional product team. You take initiative and work proactively to get the job done, from start to finish
- Execution: Proven ability to deliver high-quality design for digital products intended for mobile or handheld devices. Ensuring clear alignment with product and business objectives.
- Versatility: Comfortable handling both complex product problems and everyday design production tasks
- Technical: Solid understanding of design principles and proficiency in Figma and AI-prototyping tools.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining designs, choices and the key goals of a concept to stakeholders. Ensuring company alignment.
