About the role
We're looking for a Senior Data Scientist to help push our AI models for radiology forward — from chest X-ray to MSK and CT imaging. You'll work on problems that sit right at the boundary of computer vision research and real clinical use, where model decisions affect how radiologists work and how patients get diagnosed. This is a hands-on, senior-level role for someone who wants ownership over their models end to end, not just a slice of a pipeline.
What you'll do
- Design, train, and validate machine learning and deep learning models for medical imaging applications
- Own the full model lifecycle — data preparation, architecture selection, training, evaluation, and support through deployment
- Work closely with product, engineering, and regulatory colleagues to turn clinical and business requirements into working models
- Dig into large-scale, messy real-world imaging datasets — handle class imbalance, edge cases, and label noise
- Track and apply state-of-the-art computer vision and deep learning research where it's relevant to our products
- Explain model behavior, performance, and limitations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing and mentor less experienced team members
- Support regulatory and quality documentation of models where needed (we operate in a regulated medical device environment)
Gross Salary for this position is between 65 000 - 80 000 euro per year.

In addition to these abilities, we also want you to:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Scientist or Machine Learning Engineer, with real ownership of shipped models
- Strong Python skills and solid experience with modern ML/DL frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar)
- Firm grounding in statistics, classical ML, and deep learning architectures (CNNs and beyond)
- Experience taking models from research into production, with some awareness of MLOps practices
- Comfort working with large, imperfect, real-world datasets — strong data wrangling and SQL skills
- Clear communicator, able to translate technical results for non-technical audiences
- Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Fluent English
We consider it a great asset if you:
- Experience applying computer vision to medical imaging (X-ray, CT, MRI, or similar modalities)
- Familiarity with the DICOM protocol and medical imaging data formats/pipelines
- Experience working in a regulated environment (FDA/CE medical device software, IEC 62304, ISO 13485)
- Background, coursework, or side projects touching radiology or biomedical engineering
- Publications or contributions in medical imaging / computer vision venues (MICCAI, RSNA, CVPR, or similar)
