Security Advisor

Gard is looking for a Security Advisor to join our Security team in Technology and Business Transformation. The right candidate has both a strong technical understanding and ability to work with the whole organization to ensure awareness regarding security. You will play an important role to help Gard in securing its market leading position in the marine insurance industry.

You will be responsible for guiding and supporting the application of cyber security practices within the organization, ensuring that our services reflect and comply with corporate standards and securely support the different functions, business units and environments. This is an opportunity for an information security professional to work for a global organization and play a key role in the day-to-day responsibilities of the information security relevant to Gard.

  • Develop and participate in a wider security awareness program, creating ideas and content, and providing orientation, educational programs, and on-going communication as required.
  • Building effective relationships and communicating with internal stakeholders and users, train the organization on cyber security
  • Staying abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes related to information security.
  • Drive improvement to security levels through the identification of risks and implementation of mitigating strategies
  • Participate in other Cyber security and improvement work that is part of the department's area of ​​responsibility

Skills & Requirements

Person Specification:

  • A cyber/information-security mind-set, able to assimilate and consider issues from the technical, process and business perspective, supported by a pragmatic attitude to the implementation of security across a global company
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills; and the ability to communicate security and risk-related concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences
  • Very good written and verbal communication skills, capable of working with people at all levels within the business

Ideal Experience:

  • Experience of the development and implementation of appropriate risk mitigation plans, policies, processes and technical controls
  • Experience with the implementation of an ISMS and information classification frameworks
  • Knowledge of security, control frameworks and best practices, such as ISO/IEC 2700x, NIST, COBIT5 and ITIL
  • Hold a relevant degree in computer science or similar
  • Be independent, proactive and structured – takes full ownership of responsibilities
  • Have excellent English written and verbal communication skills
  • Recent graduated are encouraged to apply
