Senior Manager of Software Engineering

Location: Cumberland, GA

We are seeking a technically strong and execution-focused Senior Manager of Software Engineering to lead the development and delivery of cloud-connected software platforms, mobile applications, and customer-facing web solutions. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving engineering execution, technical strategy, and team performance across a modern technology ecosystem.
The ideal candidate combines hands-on technical expertise with proven leadership experience and has a track record of building and scaling secure, reliable, and highly available software products. This individual should be comfortable operating across multiple technology stacks, including cloud infrastructure, backend services, web applications, mobile development, and systems integrations.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
Lead the architecture, development, and continuous improvement of software platforms and applications.
Establish and enforce engineering best practices related to code quality, testing, security, performance, scalability, and reliability.
Drive technical decision-making and ensure solutions are aligned with business objectives.
Oversee the implementation of CI/CD processes, system monitoring, observability, and operational excellence.
Ensure systems are designed for scalability, fault tolerance, maintainability, and security.
Software Development & Systems Integration
Guide full-stack software development efforts leveraging:
Go (Golang) for backend services and APIs
React and TypeScript for web applications
React Native and native mobile technologies for mobile solutions
AWS cloud services and infrastructure
Lead integrations with third-party platforms, business applications, external services, and identity management solutions.
Ensure adherence to modern security practices, including encryption, authentication, authorization, and secure application deployment.
Support the design and implementation of cloud-native architectures and distributed systems.
Team Leadership & Delivery
Manage, mentor, and develop a team of 5-10 software engineers and technical contributors.
Establish clear priorities, goals, and accountability measures to ensure successful project delivery.
Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, continuous learning, and operational excellence.
Partner with leadership to identify resource needs and support team growth as the organization scales.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Product Management, Customer Success, Operations, and executive leadership to align engineering efforts with business priorities.
Translate business requirements into technical solutions and delivery plans.
Coordinate with external partners, vendors, and development teams when needed.
Drive execution against roadmap commitments while balancing technical debt, product innovation, and operational stability.


Required Qualifications
3+ years of experience leading software engineering teams.
Demonstrated success delivering and scaling secure, cloud-based software platforms.
Strong hands-on development experience with Go (Golang).
Experience designing, deploying, and supporting solutions within AWS cloud environments.
Experience building modern web applications using React and TypeScript.
Familiarity with mobile application development using React Native, Swift, and/or Kotlin.
Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines, monitoring solutions, observability platforms, and release management processes.
Strong understanding of software architecture, distributed systems, API development, and cloud-native technologies.
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.


Preferred Qualifications
Experience leading teams responsible for IoT-connected products or cloud-connected devices.
Experience with microservices architectures and event-driven systems.
Knowledge of identity and access management solutions, including OAuth and SAML.
Experience with infrastructure automation, DevOps practices, and cloud security frameworks.
Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
