Main goal

The EURO 2028 ICT Technical Expert is part of the ICT infrastructure team based at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, reporting to the ICT Technical Solutions Manager and working in collaboration with various other EURO 2028 and UEFA teams as well as telecoms partners and stadium operators for the tournament.

Key responsibilities

Planning phase:

  • Designing, documenting and developing business-oriented telecommunications solutions in line with UEFA EURO 2028 operational requirements
  • Acting as the subject matter expert for telecoms and the primary liaison between UEFA's ICT unit, technical stakeholders and the tournament's telecoms partner
  • Translating business and operational needs into scalable, reliable and cost-effective telecom service designs and architectures
  • Ensuring that telecommunications solutions are delivered in accordance with the tournament objectives, the ICT Technical Solutions Manager's instructions and all relevant standards

Delivery phase:

  • Monitoring the set-up of all UEFA EURO 2028 venues
  • Supporting the team with the provision of ICT infrastructure for other UEFA competitions
  • Working on-site during UEFA EURO 2028 as part of the IT Command Centre telecoms team to support tournament operations

Post-tournament phase:

  • Contributing to dismantling, debriefing, reporting and closing event operations

Skills & Requirements

Requirements

Experience:

  • Minimum of four years’ experience developing telecoms infrastructure domain supporting services
  • Operational experience as a service owner in a command or network operations centre
  • Experience of successful delivery in line with service level agreements, service constraints and standard operational metrics

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related area, or equivalent work experience
  • Telecoms certification (e.g. CCNP Routing and Switching) would be a plus

Languages:

  • English: Proficient

Other requirements:

- Relocation to Switzerland or nearby France is expected

- Strong familiarity with networking, IP transport and radio

- Willing and able to travel and work long and irregular hours

- Excellent collaboration, communication, agility and customer engagement

- Proven organisational, project management, problem-solving and analytical skills
