Northvolt is right now looking for a Technical Project Leader, a.k.a. Systems Engineer, to join our Battery Systems team. You will be given the opportunity to develop High Performance li-ion battery systems as well as being a part of building the first European large-scale lithium-ion battery factory.
We are searching for candidates with strong engineering knowledge and experience in Battery Systems and project team leadership to contribute to our technology development in the field.
You have experience delivering Li-ion batteries for one or several of our key markets: stationary Energy Storage Systems, Industrial Applications or Automotive, with hands-on execution of such projects. The knowledge of the overall system design of the applications will be useful in integrating and developing solutions from various technology disciplines like Control System Design, Electrical Design, Mechanical Design, Thermal Design, etc.
Drive and architect the System Design development for a safe, smart and cost-optimized solution
Guide and lead the engineering project team for the module and pack design
Develop state-of-the art battery solutions by challenging existing industry solutions
Optimize the integration of Northvolt battery cells into Northvolt battery systems
Work hand-in-hand with Customer Project Managers and New Product Development project managers to provide engineering deliverables according to product & project development processes and specific project requirements
Execute engineering tasks defined within projects to meet milestones, budget and specifications

Bachelor's or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical engineering or a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience to perform at this level
+5 years of experience in battery systems technologies, preferably Li-ion technology, one of our key applications markets.
Experience working in a project environment as a Technical Project Leader, with accountability over the overall technical deliverables and to manage a team constituted of internal engineers and external consultants
Ability to work with and manage expectations of internal and external customers, such as automotive manufacturers or electric utilities.
Excellent analytical skills, especially in the field of functional safety and safety critical systems
Excellent English written and oral skills. Swedish a plus.
Ability to work under high pressure and tight deadlines, excellent time management
Ability to work well with others in a team environment, as well as independently
