Senior Performance Capture Artist

Remedy Entertainment, the creator of Control®, Max Payne®, Alan Wake®, and one of the leading independent game studios in the world, is looking for a Performance Capture Artist to create high-quality gaming experiences for the next generation of games

As a Senior Performance Capture Artist, you will be a member of Remedy's character technology team, making sure our actors' performances are as good in our games as they were at the shoot. You will own the operation and upkeep of our in-house capture systems, deliver performance capture data at the highest quality end-to-end, and work closely with our narrative team, animators and external partners across multiple projects. You will also be a driving force in bringing new performance capture solutions into production, improving our pipelines, and mentoring the artists around you.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

• Own the operation, maintenance, and debugging of the performance capture systems at the Remedy office. These include our photogrammetry, 4D facial capture, optical motion capture, and inertial performance capture systems
• Deliver performance capture data end-to-end, from shoot to game, at high quality and on schedule, using both our proprietary tools and commercial software
• Plan and prepare performance capture shoots together with the game teams, and operate our hardware during shoots
• Drive the research and adoption of new performance capture solutions from evaluating new tools and methods to getting them production-ready and taking them into use on the agreed schedule
• Find and assess external partners and vendors, write delivery specifications, review and approve deliveries, and help integrate them into game projects
• Actively improve our processes and pipelines, and write and maintain high-quality documentation
• Mentor and onboard junior team members and trainees, and act as a go-to expert for complex performance capture problems across projects

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE

• You've spent real time in performance and motion capture, and you know how to own complex work from start to finish, over the long term
• You've shipped several games and or films, taking performance capture through the full pipeline end to end, from shoot to final delivery, across hundreds of shoot days
• Skilled working with DCCs (Maya, Blender, 3ds Max, etc.)
• Experience working with external partners/vendors: quality control, review, and integration of deliveries
• You care about doing things right and doing them efficiently. You pick things up fast, and you can make solid production calls, even when the deadline is real and the pressure is on
• Experience with working with several partners across time zones
