We are a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Receiving Clerk. This position reports to the Warehouse Supervisor and will work in Sparta, TN.

About the position

As Receiving Clerk of the Sparta team, you will be involved in receiving and inspecting incoming raw materials and shipments, verifying quantities and accuracy, and reporting any discrepancies or damages. You will also ensure materials are distributed to the correct locations, including prioritizing urgent ("hot") materials, while maintaining inventory accuracy through cycle counts and discrepancy resolution. Operates forklifts, assists with pulling parts for production, works closely with purchasing and warehouse teams, and maintains a safe, organized work environment.

Your main responsibilities

  • Receive all raw materials
  • Unload and inspect incoming freight for damage
  • Report any discrepancies to Warehouse Supervisor
  • Assure that the material and part counts are correct
  • Distribute raw materials to proper areas
  • Distribute all “hot” materials immediately to exact location
  • Operate sit down and stand up forklift
  • Unload shipments from trucks, via forklift, and ensure that all items match the order
  • Assist with pulling parts for job orders as instructed daily
  • Work as a team to receive incoming deliveries, validate to packing slip and put away
  • Maintain organized, clean and safe work area
  • Ability to detect and correct inventory discrepancies.
  • Perform random cycle counts and make any necessary corrections.
  • Communicates with purchasing department on special instructions.
  • May be assigned to perform other duties as requested.
  • Must be able to work overtime on short notice.

Skills & Requirements

A suitable background would be a solid experience within warehouse and manufacturing as well as the following qualifications and experiences:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior warehouse/logistics experience preferred
  • Ability to lift 50-75 pounds on a regular basis
  • Familiar with Bills of Lading, Packing Lists and Purchase Orders to the extent of proper receiving, matching and distribution of material
  • Forklift experience required – forklift certification a plus
  • Prior Manufacturing experience a plus
  • Strong attention to detail with critical thinking
  • Team Player
  • Use of phones, computer, email and Internet. Microsoft programs experience preferred
  • Strong time management and organization skills required
  • Thorough understanding of bar-coding systems, Mapics and Microsoft Office programs
