Then you might be the person we are looking for!

Take on the role of our Warehouse Operative / Relief Spiral Operative and report to our Branch Manager supporting KPI achievement across the team.

Your primary tasks will be

  • You will receive, check, and process all goods in and out of the warehouse, ensuring quantity and quality are accurate and fully aligned with company procedures.
  • You will prepare customer and site orders by picking, packing, and dispatching items safely, efficiently, and with great attention to detail.
  • You may also support our trade counter by professionally handling customer enquiries, processing orders, and taking payments to ensure a smooth customer experience.
  • You will be responsible for maintaining stock accuracy, storing items safely, and assisting with stock counts and rotation.
  • You will operate warehouse equipment including pallet trucks and forklifts where trained while always following Health & Safety procedures.
  • You will help maintain a clean, safe, and wellorganised warehouse environment by managing waste correctly and completing required safety checks.
  • When acting as the Relief Spiral Operative, you will operate the Spiral Tube Forming machine to produce high quality spiral tube in line with company specifications and safety requirements.
  • Carrying out general machine maintenance, logging all work completed, and promptly reporting any issues or breakdowns.
  • Monitoring and maintaining both spiral and raw material stock levels to ensure timely production and fulfilment of delivery demands.

You are a friendly individual with strong knowledge of warehouse operations, including goods receiving, order picking, and stock handling. You have an excellent understanding of safe manual handling and warehouse processes, and you have experience working in a busy warehouse environment. It’s an advantage if you have operated forklifts (Reach and/or Counterbalance) or previously supported trade counter activities.

As a person, you are detail‑oriented and take pride in accurate, high‑quality work. You are also physically capable, safety‑conscious, and enjoy working as part of a reliable, supportive team. What you bring

  • Experience working in a warehouse environment or similar operational role
  • Hands‑on experience with goods receiving, order picking, packing, or stock control
  • Forklift experience (Reach/Counterbalance) or a willingness to train
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety and safe manual handling practices
  • Ability to work well within a team and communicate clearly with colleagues

Skills & Requirements

  • Experience in sheet metal production or a similar manufacturing environment
  • Ability to operate and maintain machinery, including performing inspections and routine maintenance
  • Strong Health & Safety awareness and understanding of PPE and safe handling procedures
  • Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence (essential)
  • Experience in a warehouse or similar operational environment
