For a project within an industrial engineering environment, we are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in metal structures and machine building.
In this role, you will take ownership of engineering projects from concept to execution. You will design and develop custom metal constructions such as bulk material handling systems, hoppers, bunkers, and related mechanical installations.
Working closely with project managers, production teams, and customers, you will ensure that designs are technically sound, manufacturable, and delivered according to project requirements.
Your Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical constructions using Autodesk Inventor
- Create detailed 3D models, assembly drawings, and manufacturing documentation
- Discuss technical solutions directly with customers and stakeholders
- Collaborate closely with project managers to define the most suitable engineering solutions
- Follow projects from site measurement and concept design through production and installation
- Review and implement design modifications when required
- Support material selection and supplier requests
- Prepare material lists and ensure all required components are included
- Provide installation and assembly drawings to the site teams
- Monitor project progress and support successful execution on the shop floor and at customer sites
Your Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related technical field
- Experience in machine building and/or metal construction projects
- Strong proficiency with Autodesk Inventor
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with project teams
- Hands-on mindset with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Good communication skills in Dutch & English
