We are looking for a Senior UX Designer to help shape intuitive, engaging, and high-impact experiences across our digital products

You will work as part of cross-functional product teams, leading design initiatives from discovery through delivery. The role combines user insight, interaction design, visual craft, prototyping, experimentation, and strong product thinking to deliver scalable, accessible solutions that create measurable value for both customers and the business.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to play a key role in strengthening how we design, build, test, and continuously improve digital products, while helping elevate the overall user experience across our digital landscape.

We are looking for someone who brings curiosity, craft, structure, and energy to the team. Someone who enjoys solving complex problems, collaborating closely with others, and respectfully challenging ideas to help us reach better outcomes.

The role is preferably based in Oslo, with a hybrid working model and an expectation to spend some days in the office for collaboration and workshops

What You’ll Do

  • Lead design efforts across the full product lifecycle, from discovery and problem framing through to delivery, iteration, and optimisation
  • Collaborate with Digital Product Researcher to conduct, support, and synthesise user research to identify customer needs, pain points, behaviours, journeys, and opportunities
  • Translate complex business and user problems into clear flows, concepts, prototypes, and design solutions
  • Create interaction designs, workflows, wireframes, and prototypes to explore and communicate solutions
  • Deliver polished, high-quality UI designs aligned with brand, product standards, and accessibility requirements
  • Design for scalable, consistent, and seamless experiences across web and mobile platforms
  • Contribute to and evolve our design system, including reusable components, patterns, documentation, and accessibility standards
  • Explore AI-assisted design tools and emerging technologies to speed up exploration, prototyping, testing, and design workflows where relevant
  • Plan and run usability testing, design reviews, experiments, and validation activities to improve solutions before and after release
  • Use data, analytics, research insights, and product metrics to guide decisions and measure impact
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, CRO, content, analytics, commercial stakeholders, and other designers
  • Advocate for user-centred design, accessibility, and strong product thinking across teams

What You Bring

  • A strong portfolio showcasing end-to-end UX design work, from problem discovery to delivered outcomes
  • Experience working in agile, cross-functional product teams
  • Proven expertise in at least two of the following areas:
    • User Experience Design
    • Interaction Design
    • Visual/UI Design
    • Service or Journey Design
    • Design Systems
  • Experience designing for responsive web and mobile applications
  • Strong understanding of usability, accessibility, WCAG principles, and inclusive design
  • Experience contributing to or working with design systems, reusable components, and scalable design patterns
  • Confidence using tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, prototyping tools, research tools, and experience with AI-assisted design tools is highly valued
  • Ability to translate complex requirements, constraints, and user needs into simple, elegant, and practical solutions
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to explain design rationale clearly to different audiences
  • A collaborative mindset, with the confidence to respectfully challenge assumptions and help teams make better product decisions
  • An analytical mindset, with confidence interpreting user research, data, analytics, and product performance insights
  • A proactive, positive, and team-oriented approach, someone who brings energy, curiosity, and good collaboration habits to the work
  • Passion for creating great digital experiences and continuously improving how products are designed and delivered
  • Education in design, HCI, digital media, interaction design, or equivalent practical experience

About the company

Hurtigruten is one of the world’s great journeys, sailing and caring for the Norwegian coast since 1893. We are proud to be a national icon for generations of Norwegians and to have a special place in the hearts of our guests from around the world.

Our Original voyages connect 34 coastal communities. It is the classic way to travel the Norwegian coast as a local and has rightly become known as ‘The World’s Most Beautiful Voyage’.
