Main goal

The Match Operations Assistant supports the delivery of stadium administration and match operations for UEFA youth competitions and the UEFA Regions' Cup.

Key responsibilities

  • Planning, leading and monitoring the successful delivery of the assigned competition projects to the set standards
  • Maintaining an overview of the key issues impacting the assigned competition matches (sporting, national association relationships, security, commercial, political) and open points across all assigned competitions, following up on these and resolving them accordingly
  • Supporting the Match Operations Manager with the delivery of flagship national team competitions, including UEFA EURO and UEFA Women's EURO, including by:
    • Ensuring the successful delivery of all matches and associated sporting elements in line with UEFA’s standard operating procedures and regulations
    • Preparing documentation and briefing material for match delegates and match managers
    • Assisting in the organisation and delivery of the biennial match manager workshop, as well as in ongoing training and development for this group
  • Providing on-call and matchnight support from the UEFA match command centre to the UEFA match officers appointed to the matches
  • Representing the Match Operations unit to internal teams (e.g. the National Associations division, Match Services, Events, Competition Management) and external stakeholders (e.g. national associations)
  • Identifying areas of improvement for the continuous development of match operations delivery
  • Contributing to the review of key operational material, including regulations and manuals, guidelines and procedures, key stakeholder briefing documents and match operations tools
  • Supporting the Football Operations unit as needed

Skills & Requirements

Requirements

Experience:

  • From 1 to 2 years' experience working in a complex international environment

Education:

  • Bachelor's in a relevant field

Languages:

  • English / Proficient
  • Fluency in other European languages would be an asset

Other requirements:

- Relocation to Switzerland/France is expected

- MS Office / Advanced

- Familiarity with AI tools and technologies would be a plus

- Strong analytical skills with a structured, solution-oriented mindset, capable of assessing complex situations, identifying risks and providing clear, actionable recommendations

- Ability to build and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships

- Experience with major event planning and delivery, with the ability to anticipate challenges and ensure efficient execution

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels and deliver high-quality written reports and presentations
