Lantmännen Biorefineries is currently making one of their largest investments ever: building a plant for the Pea Protein Isolate of the future – a key step in growing their Food Ingredients business and meeting the increasing demand for plant-based proteins.

To strengthen the sales team for this upcoming growth journey, we are now seeking a Key Account Manager who will build a full market of customers for the strategic Pea Protein Isolate segment. The role demands a strong salesperson as well as creative and opportunity-oriented mind. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to build a large business from scratch, supported by a strong company.

This is what you will do

The role of the KAM for Pea Protein Isolate (PPI) will build a completely new market for Lantmännen Biorefineries. Since the business area is new, you will work proactively seeking out potential customers and finding ways for cooperation in order to build strong business and partnerships for the future.

The sales process is complex. The KAM will have to work systematically and proactively to map and approach potential customers. Potential customers are located both in Sweden and internationally, primarily in the Nordic countries and the rest of Europe. There will be frequent travel to customers, fairs and Lantmännen Biorefineries’ sites.

To succeed in your efforts, you need to take a commercial and analytical approach, where you present ideas and approach customers with strong business proposals.

The role will report to Head of Sales, Food Ingredients, and work closely with the rest of the sales team, focusing on other ingredients such as wheat gluten, food starch, oat fibers and protein. You will also work closely with product and application, logistics, operations, controllers as well as the Business Development Manager.

The position is based at either Lantmännen Headquarters in Stockholm or one of the sites in Norrköping, Kimstad or Lidköping.

Key responsibilities:

  • Independently plan, execute, and develop sales activities for new customers in the Nordic region and internationally – in line with strategic and operational initiatives
  • Map current and future market within PPI
  • Strategic market positioning with a focus on differentiating vs. competitors plus balancing price, volume and delivering customer value
  • Create quotations and lead negotiations with each customer
  • Monitor, analyze, and investigate price changes, competitor availability, and new players within the business area
  • Budget responsibility within own customer segment, follow-up on results and profitability
  • Provide input for budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning
  • Support business development projects from a commercial point of view
  • Customer care activities such as fairs and on-site visits with customers
  • Use the CRM system to systematically map activities and the market moving forward
