Commercial Manager, distribution

As our new Commercial Manager, you will drive outstanding commercial results and ensure a competitive edge for Scandic in the constantly evolving world of hotel distribution.

The role is an expert role that will establish best practices, initiate pilots and tests, own and drive initiatives in 3rd party channels on behalf of our Country organisations and be a general support for any commercial distribution activities. The role will also be responsible for contract negotiations for new 3rd party distribution channels as well as re-negotiations of existing contracts to secure best possible terms.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Negotiations, contracting and owning commercial relationship for new OTAs, Call Center and web direct partners
  • Support with daily engagement, commercial analysis and negotiations of existing agreements for top OTAs (Expedia/Booking.com) and GDS
  • Own and execute paid and organic initiatives in 3rd party channels in close collaboration with Performance Marketing team
  • Initiate pilots, tests and initiatives to drive best practices for 3rd party distribution across Scandic and be main liaison with Country Distribution function for implementation
  • Work towards increased ranking in all relevant channels (OTA/GDS) for maximized reach
  • Deliver reporting and insight on distribution channel delivery towards targets
  • Follow up and implement/train Scandic internally on new channel initiatives

Skills & Requirements

Who are you?

The role requires a combination of strategic and tactical thinking, an analytical mind, a drive to start and see through new initatives and team work. You are also a driven and enthusiastic personality with a curiosity for the latest developments in the market. Communication is a key skill to succeed as you will be a strong liaison between different commercial departments, both on a group level as well as with our Country organisations.

Today, you are likely in a similar role or a role that requires an advanced level of commercial analysis, stakeholder management, and/or business development. Experience from Revenue Management and/or digital sales in travel is a plus.

The role reports to our Head of Distribution and is based in the Scandic Group Head Office, which is located in Stockholm.

This is a full-time employment.
