Job Description
A Media & Technology Company in our network is looking to fill the role of a Finance & Operations Manager who will be responsible for establishing and managing the administrative, financial, procurement, vendor management, and facilities operations of the Organization.
The role serves as the operational backbone of the organization, ensuring that financial processes, procurement activities, office administration, facilities management, and vendor relationships are effectively managed to support the Organization's strategic objectives.
The successful candidate will combine strong financial discipline with operational excellence, helping create the systems, controls, and infrastructure required to support a fast-growing Pan-African media and technology organization.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinance & Financial Operations
- Maintain accurate financial records and bookkeeping systems.
- Process payments, reimbursements, and vendor invoices.
- Coordinate monthly payroll administration and statutory remittances.
- Monitor operational budgets and expenditure.
- Maintain petty cash and expense management processes.
- Support financial reporting and audit preparation.
- Assist with cash flow tracking and financial planning.
- Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and financial service providers.
Procurement & Vendor Management
- Manage procurement processes and purchasing activities.
- Source and evaluate vendors and service providers.
- Maintain vendor records, contracts, and service agreements.
- Ensure competitive pricing and value-for-money procurement.
- Monitor vendor performance and service delivery.
- Process purchase requests and approvals.
- Support contract administration and renewals.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and controls.
Administration & Office Operations
- Oversee daily office administration activities.
- Maintain organizational records and documentation.
- Coordinate office logistics and operational requirements.
- Manage office supplies, inventory, and consumables.
- Support onboarding logistics for new employees and consultants.
- Maintain asset registers and organizational records.
- Coordinate travel logistics, accommodation, and administrative support as required.
- Ensure efficient operational support across all functions.
Facilities Management
- Manage office facilities and workplace environment.
- Coordinate maintenance, repairs, and facility upgrades.
- Ensure functionality of office equipment and infrastructure.
- Manage relationships with facility vendors and service providers.
- Monitor workplace health, safety, and security requirements.
- Ensure a professional, safe, and productive working environment.
- Coordinate office expansion, setup, and relocation activities where required.
Governance, Compliance & Controls
- Implement and maintain operational controls and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain proper documentation and audit trails.
- Support policy implementation and operational governance initiatives.
- Identify operational risks and recommend mitigation measures.
Skills & Requirements
Qualifications & ExperienceEducation
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Management, or related discipline.
Professional Qualifications (Preferred)
- ICAN
- ACCA
- ACA
- CPA
- Relevant Operations or Procurement Certifications
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in Finance, Administration, Operations, Procurement, or Office Management.
- Experience working in a startup, consulting, media, technology, or high-growth environment is desirable.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple operational functions simultaneously.
