Accounts Payable Clerk

We are on a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Accounts Payable Specialist within our Finance capability. This position reports to the Accounts Payable Manager and will work in Elkhart, Indiana.

About the position

As an Accounts Payable Specialist in the Finance team, you will be involved in managing and executing the organization's accounts payable functions, including processing invoices, reconciling vendor statements, and ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors. This role is essential to maintaining accurate financial records, supporting effective cash flow management, and fostering positive vendor relationships.

Working within the Finance or Accounting Department, the Accounts Payable Specialist collaborates closely with internal teams to resolve payment issues, address invoice discrepancies, and support overall financial operations. The position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.

Your main responsibilities

  • Process and manage the accounts payable function, including matching invoices to purchase orders, coding invoices to GL accounts, and preparing payments.
  • Set up new vendors and update existing vendors.
  • Reconcile accounts payable balances to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Communicate with vendors to resolve issues and answer questions related to accounts payable.
  • Process expense reports and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Assist with month-end close and prepare necessary reports and reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure all supporting documentation is properly filed and organized.
  • Assist with other accounting and finance tasks as needed.
  • Work within budgetary constraints to manage timelines and resources.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills & Requirements

A suitable background would be a solid experience within Dynamic 365 and Cross-Functional leadership – as well as the following qualifications and experiences:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and general ledger systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

To be successful in this role, we believe that you possess the following skills, competencies & characteristics:

  • A blend of Operations Management, Information Management, ERP Applications, Project Management and Business Analysis skills.
  • Detail oriented manager with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capable of assisting with Budget development and management.
  • A team player with excellent communication and analytical skills, and an ability to work closely with users, management, consultants, and service providers.
  • Able to work on-site 5 days per week at our office in Elkhart, IN.
