Coop Sverige – Together we make food-Sweden sustainable

At Coop we are building the data backbone of a truly data-driven company. We run stores for our 4.2 million members, and our motto is “Relevance in every touchpoint.” Understanding our customers’ needs and behaviours is what fuels everything we do – from purchasing and logistics to personalised customer experiences.

We are now strengthening our data organisation with an SAP Data Engineer who will help connect our strong SAP estate to the next generation of AI and analytics at Coop.

About the role

You will be part of our Data Platform team, which sits within Coop’s AI & Business Intelligence organisation – the team building the data foundation that powers analytics and AI across the company.

This is a role at the intersection of two worlds. You will build and manage data models, transformations and integrations in SAP Datasphere and SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC) – and, just as importantly, make that SAP data flow into CAP, our Azure-based data platform, where it becomes available to data scientists, analysts and business users across the company.

In other words: you don’t just build inside SAP. You make SAP data usable everywhere. You will be central to integrating our SAP S/4HANA and analytical data into CAP, so that high-quality, well-modelled data powers AI/ML, self-service analytics and better decisions throughout Coop.

What you will do

  • Develop data models, transformations and integrations in SAP Datasphere and SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC).
  • Integrate and deliver SAP data into CAP, our Azure data platform, ensuring it is reliable, well-structured and ready for downstream analytics and AI/ML use.
  • Refine data from SAP systems – ideally S/4HANA – into products and insights that drive real business value.
  • Design and build engaging reports and dashboards in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) that make data accessible and easy to understand.
  • Safeguard data quality, performance and usability across the full data flow.
  • Partner with the business to turn requirements into robust, scalable technical solutions, and contribute across the whole development lifecycle – testing, troubleshooting and deployment included.

Who are you?

You are someone who is energised by turning data into insight and opportunity. You see the potential in building something new – and you want to be part of it from the start. You enjoy close collaboration, sharing knowledge and solving problems together, and you move naturally between thinking strategically and rolling up your sleeves to deliver.

We believe that you

  • Have experience developing and optimising data solutions in SAP Datasphere, SAP HANA or SAP BW.
  • Have a solid command of SQL, data integration and data modelling, with an eye for quality and performance in data flows.
  • Understand ETL processes and how to extract, transform and load data efficiently and reliably.
  • Know CDS (Core Data Services) and how CDS views are designed for flexible, high-performance models.
  • Are comfortable refining data from SAP source systems (ideally S/4HANA) into insights that support the business.
  • Have experience building reports and dashboards in SAP Analytics Cloud.
  • Can communicate and collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams, discussing solutions with both technical specialists and non-technical stakeholders.

It’s meritorious if you

  • Have hands-on experience with SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC).
  • Have worked with cloud data platforms – preferably Azure (e.g. Databricks, data lake / medallion architecture) and understand how SAP and cloud estates connect.
  • Have familiarity with core SAP S/4 business processes (sales, purchasing, inventory, finance).
  • Have worked with DevOps and agile delivery.

As a person, you are:

  • Engaged and humble – you help out where it’s needed.
  • Curious and solution-oriented – you see challenges as opportunities.
  • Structured and thorough – you build for long-term sustainability.
  • Communicative and collaborative – you create clarity and shared understanding.
