Strategy and M&A Manager

The Rovio Strategy team is responsible for the corporate strategy & development, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), designing growth strategies, leading and supporting various strategic initiatives and providing market intelligence. Team works closely with the top management of Rovio and its business units Games and Brand Licensing.

Strategy and M&A Manager works in projects of high strategic importance for Rovio and/or its business units Games and Brand Licensing, delivering analysis and material to support strategy definition and decision-making. Around 50% of the time will be dedicated to strategy related tasks including strategy development and deployment, and around 50% to M&A related tasks including involvement in all phases of the M&A process from screening, to evaluation, due diligence, deal negotiation and post-deal integration. You will coordinate and assume ownership of projects and company-wide programs and build and lead project teams from different parts of the organization. You will also identify and solve complex business problems and develop business cases and modeling.

  • Company and business level strategy development and deployment
  • Evaluate M&A, investments and strategic partnership deals by performing a broad range of qualitative and quantitative analyses
  • Support in deal execution process from sourcing, to negotiation, due diligence and post-deal integration
  • Build models and analysis evaluating strategic opportunities
  • Monitor market trends and competitive landscape to identify strategic opportunities
  • Providing concise presentations with clear insight and recommendations for management decisions
  • Managing projects and programs (also multiple projects simultaneously)
  • Pro-active stakeholder management
  • Developing company capabilities (tools, people, processes) through operational development projects

We’d love it if you have these feathers in your cap:

  • Education: M.Sc. Econ., M.Sc. Eng., MBA or other equivalent with strong academic record
  • 3+ years of related work experience, e.g. management consulting, investment bank, strategy function or equivalent
  • Excellent knowledge of corporate financials and financial/business case quantitative analysis
  • Analytical thinking and capability of creating professional analysis with an array of different quantitative and qualitative tools
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English and ability to visualize and document the facts into easily approachable format
  • Excellent prioritizing and organizing skills
  • Project coordination and management skills
  • Strong knowledge of Powerpoint, Excel, Word

It's a plus if you have experience of:

  • Experience from mobile games and entertainment industries
  • Understanding of e.g. mobile games, consumer, digital media and entertainment businesses
  • Passion for gaming and entertainment
