Senior Product Designer (App)

Are you interested in joining of Europe's fastest growing companies? Do you want to impact the wellbeing of millions of users?
If yes, join us to make an impact in a fast-paced and dynamic environment where you’ll play a key role in driving financial accountability, supporting strategic decisions, and enabling sustainable growth.
Epassi’s purpose is to boost everyday well-being. We are a leading provider of employee benefit solutions across Europe. We were established in Finland in 2007, and in 2008 we were the first company to launch a mobile-payable employee benefit payment solution in Europe. Since then, we have consistently grown, diversifying our products and introducing our services into new markets.
Epassi has been awarded by the Financial Times as one of the fastest-growing companies in Europe on multiple occasions.
We are now hiring a Senior Product Designer (App). This can be home based — with twice monthly travel to one of our offices in Finland or Germany.

Your mission at Epassi

You will help deliver Epassi’s vision as the Daily Wellbeing Companion by owning and elevating the end-user app experience for one important functional domain across all markets.

This role is hands-on: you will actively design UX concepts, interactions and hi-fi designs, while collaborating with PM, engineering and other designers and researchers. In this role you will also be contributing to our shared app design guidelines and standards.

Your responsibilities will be:

  • Act as design owner for the assigned domain within the Epassi App UI layer across markets.
  • Contribute hands-on design work – conceptual, user flows and hi-fi designs
  • Collaborate with researchers or conduct your own research, keep an eye on the product and UX metrics – we are data-driven in our decision-making.
  • Ensure a consistent, scalable user experience within your domain.
  • Use, evolve, and contribute to the Epassi App Design System and Guidelines together with other designers.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and brand marketing.
  • Balance long-term UX vision with practical delivery and execution.
  • Utilize and develop AI-driven workflow together with your cross-functional team and the larger design team.

You’ll be successful in this role if you are able to:

  • Spend time exploring interaction concepts when needed but also make pragmatic decisions to keep delivery moving.
  • Take ownership of design work end-to-end within your domain, from early concepts to implementation support.
  • Communicate clearly and confidently with designers, developers, and business stakeholders.
  • Utilize the latest LLM-powered tools and workflows in design and design-handovers – you don’t need to be an AI expert but have a willingness and curiosity to learn.

During the first 6–9 months, you will:

  • Take ownership of design work for the assigned domain.
  • Develop further the UX concept within your domain.
  • Work closely with other app designers to align patterns, flows, and standards.
  • Understand the user needs in your domain area in the first 1 or 2 markets and become an advocate for those users in cross-functional meetings.

What you’ll be doing (daily):

  • Design collaboration: Recurring syncs with app designers and researchers to align on priorities, onboarding experiences, and user research insights.
  • Hands-on design work: Analyzing user needs, defining flows, creating interaction models, and building prototypes for key app concepts in your domain.
  • Cross-functional alignment: Working very closely with product management and engineering in a product trio collaboration model.
  • Team interaction: Working closely with local colleagues and global teams in an open, low-hierarchy culture.

What you should bring:

  • 4–6+ years of experience designing at-scale, complex consumer apps.
  • Strong hands-on experience with mobile app UX and UI design.
  • Understanding of modern app design trends and patterns.
  • Solid interaction design skills with a relevant educational background.
  • Awareness of how AI and automation can support the design process and end-user experience.
  • Solid understanding of mobile app technical constraints and accessibility requirements.
  • Experience from HR tech, fintech, wellness, or sports is a plus.

Your track record:

  • Experience working on published consumer apps with a significant user base.
  • Experience driving complex design concepts end-to-end within a domain or product area.
  • Hands-on contribution to design systems or shared UI frameworks.
  • Ability to connect UX improvements to measurable business and user outcomes.

Your competency profile:

  • Strong interaction design and visual design skills, with attention to detail.
  • Data-informed decision making, using research and analytics to guide priorities.
  • Clear, constructive communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to adapt your approach based on context, constraints, and maturity of the problem space.

Why You Should Join Us

  • Be part of an ambitious growth journey and join a global community of driven, bold, entrepreneurial, yet humble Epassians in a company that is constantly evolving.
  • Work with a clear purpose — boosting everyday wellbeing — and create a meaningful, positive impact on both individuals and society.
  • Thrive in an open and inclusive culture with low hierarchy, where relationships are built on respect, camaraderie, and shared successes and challenges.
  • Come as you are — we’ll bring out the best in you and support your personal and professional growth.
  • Join a fast-growing tech company with a strong financial foundation, offering opportunities to grow and make an impact together with us.
  • Benefit from an inspiring and supportive work environment where employee wellbeing is a true priority.
  • Contribute to solidifying our position as the number one player in Europe’s employee benefit market and help shape the next wave of success.

This position will be filled as soon as we have a suitable candidate — please apply as soon as possible!
