Job Description

Ready to take industrial technology from the lab to customer sites around the world?

What will you be doing?

SpinDrive is looking for a Field Service Engineer to join its growing service team in Lappeenranta. In this role, you will work at the intersection of advanced engineering, customer collaboration, and hands-on industrial fieldwork. You will report to SpinDrive’s Service Manager and play a key role in commissioning, fine-tuning, testing, and troubleshooting active magnetic bearing systems in customer environments globally.

Your work focuses on industrial rotating equipment ranging from 2 kW to multi- MW applications, including compressors, blowers, turbines, expanders, and electric motors. The systems are used across industries such as food and beverage, energy, pulp and paper, and semiconductors. You will work closely with customers on-site, ensuring successful installations and solving technical challenges during commissioning, prototype testing, and operational phases.

In cooperation with SpinDrive’s R&D and service teams, you will participate in testing and verification activities for new features and tools while helping streamline deployment processes in real industrial environments. The role combines hands-on technical work, customer communication, reporting, troubleshooting, and independent problem-solving in international project environments.

What kind of person thrives in this role and why?

You might be the person we are looking for if you enjoy combining technical problem-solving with customer-facing fieldwork and feel comfortable working independently in changing industrial environments. You are motivated by practical engineering challenges, international travel, and the opportunity to work closely with customers during critical installation and commissioning phases.

We especially value strong communication skills, customer-oriented thinking, and a proactive attitude toward troubleshooting and continuous improvement.

We hope you have:

  • An engineering degree for example in mechanical, electrical, automation, systems control, or a related field
  • At least 1–2 years of relevant work experience in industrial environments
  • Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems
  • Hands-on troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read and work with technical documentation
  • Strong communication skills and full working proficiency in English
  • Readiness to travel internationally

We consider as an asset:

  • Experience working with industrial rotating equipment or commissioning projects
  • Previous experience in customer-facing technical roles
  • Experience working in prototype or R&D-driven industrial projects

What SpinDrive offers you:

  • Travel globally and work directly with advanced industrial technology installations across Europe, Asia, the Americas, and the Middle East
  • Build broad technical expertise by combining mechanical, electrical, and automation engineering in real customer environments
  • Develop your career in a fast-growing international technology company with ambitious growth targets
  • Take ownership in a role that combines freedom, responsibility, and visible impact on customer success
  • Join a skilled and supportive engineering team working on cutting-edge industrial solutions
  • The compensation will include the salary and stock options to share the benefits of SpinDrive’s growth

Practicalities:

This is a full-time and permanent position, and you will be employed directly by SpinDrive Oy. The role is based mainly onsite in Lappeenranta, Finland, and includes travel to supplier locations. The onboarding period will take place primarily in Lappeenranta and is expected to last approximately 2–3 months. The start date is as soon as possible, but the latest in August 2026.

Approximate schedule for the recruitment process:

  • Initial phone interviews with aTalent: weeks 24-25
  • Interview rounds with SpinDrive: weeks 26-27
