Rud Pedersen Public Affairs is looking for a motivated trainee to join our growing Brussels public affairs consultancy for a 6-month paid internship.

Our Brussels office opened in 2017 and has almost 80 team members today. We are currently looking to strengthen our team with a Research Executive focused on working within the food and agriculture sector, in particular on substance advocacy, Agri-Trade, and secondary legislation.

We offer the opportunity to work and grow in a fast-paced and energetic consultancy environment. Anyone joining will have the opportunity to develop within the Rud Pedersen team, working with our Brussels partners and the wider company.

The position

In particular, the role involves:

  • Following EU developments and undertaking initial research on policy issues on behalf of clients;
  • Supporting the team with legislative, regulatory and press monitoring;
  • Helping to organize and execute events;
  • Taking an active role in client teams, suggesting improvements for servicing of clients with regards to research;
  • Participating at external events relevant to day-to-day work and seeking to build relationships with external actors at an appropriate level;
  • Contribute to our marketing efforts;
  • Building competence at undertaking public affairs tasks on behalf of clients.

Skills & Requirements

    Our ideal candidate for this position will have the following profile:

    • Experience working with or in the EU institutions, PA Consultancy, Trade Associations, (i.e. internship);
    • Master in relevant fields such as EU Affairs, IR, law, political science;
    • Interest and preferably some content knowledge in the fields of Agricultural policy, Agri-Trade, or substance advocacy;
    • Interest and preferably some experience with comitology processes (secondary legislation, i.e. delegated / implemented acts);
    • An enthusiasm for conducting public affairs and communications in all its forms, from direct outreach to social media engagement;
    • Interest in helping to organise and manage events;
    • Experience in project management is welcome.

Your written English skills will be tested during the selection process via a short assessment.
