Job Description

Tesseract, a leading Finnish digital asset investment company, is seeking for a Head of Finance to lead and evolve the finance function.

Key responsibilities

You will take full ownership of Tesseract’s financial operations, reporting directly to the COO and working closely with the CEO and other executives. You will oversee all aspects of financial planning, reporting, and control, ensuring that the company’s financial management supports its continued growth, regulatory compliance, and strategic objectives. You will also act as the team lead for one Controller. This position combines hands-on work with strategic foresight, and suits a finance professional with a strong operational background and problem-solving skillset.

• Process Development & Internal Controls: Design, implement and document efficient, scalable financial processes by leveraging AI (Claude)

• Audit & Regulatory Coordination: Manage annual audits and ensure timely compliance with tax, audit, and regulatory reporting (including crypto-specific obligations).
• Financial Reporting & Oversight: Own and drive internal and external financial reporting, including monthly management reports, board reporting, and financial statements in close collaboration with the company's Controller and external accountant.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the budgeting process, including long-term financial projections, business scenario planning, and variance analysis.

• Team Leadership & Collaboration: Collaborate closely with legal, risk, operations and asset management teams; build and potentially expand the finance function in line with business growth.
  

Requirements:

• 5+ years of progressive experience in financial management, ideally in roles such as Senior Controller or Finance Lead
• Master’s degree in accounting or finance, or similar
• Proven capability to implement end-to-end accounting and financial reporting frameworks
• Hands-on execution skills combined with strategic financial leadership
• Interest in financial development, process improvement, and documentation
• Strong skills in using AI tools (Claude) and Microsoft Office tools
• Full working proficiency in English, strong collaboration skills
• Experience in crypto or other financial services

Considered as an asset:

• Experience from working in a growth company related to crypto, fintech or similar
• Finnish language skills

Practicalities:

This is a full-time and permanent position, and you will be employed by Tesseract. Starting time is within August 2026, and you will work either at the Helsinki office, remotely or in a hybrid setting. Salary in this position is approximately 6000-7000 €/month, and will be negotiated individually depending on your experience. The compensation package also includes the possibility of participation in the company's stock option plan.
