We are currently looking for knowledge management trainees for the trainee period starting in March 2027. This position would suit someone who is in the third or fourth year of their studies, wishes to gain experience of working in an international environment, and is eager to put their skills into practice.

We are primarily looking for trainees starting in March 2027, but if you are available to start as early as autumn 2026, please mention this in your application.

Being a knowledge management trainee at Hannes Snellman has offered a truly unique opportunity to explore the legal field from multiple perspectives. Throughout the traineeship, I’ve deepened my understanding of legal research and learned to approach legal questions in a practical and solution-driven way. What makes this experience especially valuable is the variety of tasks and the continuous learning environment, supported by a collaborative and talented team.” – KM trainee, Autumn 2025

Job Description and Responsibilities

You will be working part time assisting our lawyers in research and fact-finding, and taking care of other library routines. KM trainees also help to manage the library collections (electronic & physical), edit pieces of news, perform information searches, compile research materials, etc. The duration of the employment and your working hours will be agreed on separately. However, the preferred duration of the traineeship is 12 months.

Skills and Requirements

As this is a trainee position, we do not expect you to know everything, but to ensure that you will be able to succeed in your duties, we do require:

  • at least 150 study credits before starting
  • genuine interest in business law and knowledge management
  • fluency in Finnish and English (Swedish and other languages would be considered a bonus)
  • attention to detail
  • ability to take initiative
  • good interpersonal skills

Most of all, we value positive attitude and willingness to learn.

What Is in It For You?

At Hannes Snellman, we cherish a sense of community, and we will do our best to make you feel part of the team from day one. On your first day, you will be assigned a tutor who will support you throughout your traineeship, and before diving into your duties, you will participate in a comprehensive orientation. Our trainees also have the chance to get together in a more informal setting when we organise traditional trainee evenings or other fun events. As we are determined to maximise your learning experience as a trainee, you will receive regular feedback and have the opportunity to attend our HS Academy lectures and mentoring breakfasts on a variety of topics. We also offer you good benefits (lunch and recreation benefit, and a ticket for public transport) and a competitive salary.
