Role? Android Developer to evolve the Oikotie mobile app, Finland’s leading real estate marketplace, and pioneer AI-driven features.
Tech stack? Kotlin, Android, JUnit, Appium, AWS, GitHub Actions, Firebase, Google Play, CI/CD, AI-assisted development.
Company? Vend, home of DBA, Bilbasen, FINN, Blocket, Oikotie & Tori, where millions of people across the Nordics connect to find what they need, whether it’s a way to move, a job, a home, a way to move, or a fresh start.

Why us? This is your chance to shape the mobile experience of Finland’s leading real estate platform and make everyday life easier for Finnish home seekers. You’ll work in a highly skilled mobile team, collaborate across the Nordics, and combine strong engineering fundamentals with modern tooling (including AI-powered workflows) to continuously improve how and what we build.

Sounds like your cup of tea? Check out the details below!

WHO ARE YOU?

  • Experienced in Android development (Kotlin) with a solid focus on clean architecture and modular codebases
  • You’re quality-focused. You take pride in stable, high-performing code and value testing (JUnit, automation) as a core part of the process and CI/CD best practices.
  • Comfortable managing releases, monitoring performance, and maintaining production stability.
  • Curious and pragmatic about AI tools and augmented development, and interested in using them to improve efficiency and code quality.
  • Comfortable working in English (our working language) and motivated to build a product used by Finnish home seekers (app content is in Finnish). The Finnish language is a plus.
  • As a person, you’re structured and accountable. You break down work into tasks, provide reliable estimations, and take ownership from development to release.

WHAT’S THE JOB LIKE?

Day-to-day work & projects cooking
As part of our Oikotie mobile app team, you’ll help develop and maintain Finland’s leading real estate marketplace app. Building and evolving a well-known product like Oikotie comes with real responsibility. The app needs to be stable, fast, and reliable, while continuously improving to meet the expectations of modern users.
You’ll step into an environment where balancing new feature development with technical improvements is part of everyday life.

More in details, your main focus areas are:

  • Implementing new features based on product and design requirements
  • Maintaining clean architecture and improving modular structure
  • Writing unit tests and end-to-end automation tests
  • Monitoring and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions)
  • Managing internal and production releases (Firebase & Google Play)
  • Improving analytics tracking and guiding best practices for new features
  • Monitoring performance and stability (crash reports, logs, metrics)
  • Ensuring secure handling of secrets and sensitive data
  • Using AI tools in your daily workflow to enhance development, refactoring, testing, and documentation

You’ll collaborate closely with product managers, designers (Figma), and fellow engineers. We use Jira, Slack, and Miro in our daily work and are part of a broader Nordic developer community where knowledge sharing across brands and platforms is encouraged.

A FEW WORDS FROM ARTO KANGAS, Senior Engineer Manager
“Hi there! I am Arto, Senior Engineering Manager at Oikotie. In the Oikotie Mobile team, we are a tight-knit group of 5 developers (plus our designer and PM) where the team is always number one. My leadership style is rooted in coaching; I’ve spent a long time in software development and my goal is to ensure every team member is supported to reach the level they want to be at.

What makes us unique? We don't believe in rigid silos. Everyone is encouraged to experiment and do what they find interesting. We are currently in an "invention mode" finding the best new features for our users. If you value psychological safety, continuous learning, and “team first mentality”, you’ll feel right at home here”
