Do you want to shape the role as a Financial Controller in the new Finance Transformation & Control function in a unique international organization? Business Sweden is now recruiting a financial controller with high analytical skills, financial expertise, and a strong sense of compliance. You will work in a truly international environment helping Swedish companies to grow global sales and international companies to invest and expand in Sweden and have contacts across the organization.

Business Sweden has more than 50 offices worldwide, and you will operate in a complex and truly international context. As Financial Controller, you will shape the financial control role bridging the Business Performance and Accounting team. In parallel with monthly and yearly routines, you will work in a variety of projects in the Finance team improving the efficiency and quality of work. The role entails both operational and development oriented work and you will be a key individual in the finance transformation journey.

The role is based at Business Sweden’s Headquarters located in the World Trade Center in Stockholm. You report to the head of Finance Transformation & Control and you are part of the central Finance team. You will work closely with key members of the organization.

As Financial Controller at Business Sweden your job will encompass a diverse range of tasks such as:

  • Ensure quality of figures through structured analysis in terms of accuracy and completeness of financial reporting, comparability of numbers, and readiness for analysis
  • Act as a complementary interface between business performance control and accounting, ensuring alignment on postings, accruals, and accounting treatments
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve analytical models and tools to support business performance insights
  • Provide analytical support to monthly closing, forecasting, and budgeting processes, ensuring reliable decision-making input and cost control
  • Safeguard data quality through validation across systems, identifying discrepancies and driving corrective actions
  • Drive the Monthly Project of Completion process from Finance in collaboration with IT
  • Ensure adherence to relevant financial policies, controls, and compliance requirements, provide feedback to relevant stakeholders
  • Support external audits and internal control, and administrative finance related processes
  • Drive ongoing improvements in processes, systems, and ways of working, with a focus on automation, efficiency, and scalability - be an AI change agent
  • Ensure a clear allocation of responsibilities and effective collaboration with related financial functions at Business Sweden (e.g. Business Performance, Accounting)
  • Be a Financial advisor to the organization in financial matters on ad-hoc basis

We assume that you are a passionate and analytical finance professional that is development oriented and thrives when solving complex matters in efficient ways. We assume that you have a global experience and preferably from a financial controlling or accounting environment. We suppose that you have a genuine AI and system development interest.

The role is based in Stockholm, but you will be expected to work with our teams and clients around the world, as required.

Formal requirements

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience (Financial Control or relevant background in a Finance organization, e.g. Accounting or Compliance).
  • High level of expertise within financial reporting and financial processes
  • Experience working closely with executive management and contributing to strategic decision-making is a merit
  • Experience from consulting, project-based and international environments is a merit
  • High proficiency in financial systems and tools (e.g., ERP systems, Excel, BI tools). Demonstrated AI interest.
  • You have a high level of proficiency in both English and Swedish.
