ABOUT THE PROJECT
tv.nu is one of Sweden’s strongest digital brands, guiding over 1.1 million users every week to discover something to watch and be entertained by.
We’re a small, friendly, and product-focused team where engineers, designers, and product managers collaborate closely to build and evolve the best TV, streaming, and sports guide in Sweden.
You’ll work in a small, experienced team (15 people) across Kraków and Stockholm, on a product that’s:
- already migrated to AWS
- built on modern PHP and microservices
- handling high traffic and large data sets
As we continue modernizing the company’s tech stack, you’ll help shape scalable backend architecture, improve large-scale tv, streaming & sport data processing, and build future-proof product capabilities - while introducing AI-assisted engineering workflows and influencing technical direction in a product used by millions every month, with short paths from idea to impact.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We think you’ll thrive here if you enjoy building things end-to-end, working in a close-knit team, and contributing to both code and culture.
You’ll likely enjoy this role if you:
- Have strong backend engineering experience (PHP, microservices)
- Have worked with distributed systems and cloud infrastructure
- Are comfortable building and maintaining production APIs
- Have experience with AWS
- Write clean, maintainable code and care about quality and performance
- Contribute to architecture and technical decisions
- Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams
- Feel good about working in distributed, remote team
ABOUT YOU
You have:
- Strong background in PHP and backend development
- Experience with relational databases (MySQL/MariaDB)
- Experience with APIs, distributed systems or microservices
- Understanding of data processing and system performance
- Ownership mindset and attention to detail
- Good English communication skills
Nice to have:
- Working knowledge on AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform
- Curiosity and willingness to challenge the status quo
