Software Engineer – Agentic Commerce

What you’ll do
You’ll join our Agentic Commerce team in the Merchants area — a team that has been building since January and is now moving from early exploration into real customer and merchant impact.
The team is building Vipps MobilePay’s shopping assistant and exploring how AI agents can help users discover, decide, and buy — while helping merchants grow in a new era of commerce.
This is hands-on work: ideating, building, integrating, testing, breaking, fixing — and doing it all again, quickly. You’ll help turn emerging tech and LLM-driven concepts into robust prototypes and customer-ready products used across the Nordics.
You’ll work closely with product, design, merchants, partners, and other engineers to shape both the product and the technical direction. You’ll also help the team work in a new way, using AI tools actively and thoughtfully to move faster without lowering the bar.
Skills & Requirements
What we’re looking for
- Solid experience in backend or full-stack development.
- Comfortable building services, APIs, integrations, and production systems from scratch.
- Curious and forward-leaning in how you use AI tools in your own work.
- Interest in, or experience with, LLMs, AI tooling, agentic systems, or AI-assisted software development.
- Experience with prompt engineering and building or integrating customer-facing AI tools or products.
- Bonus points for payments, e-commerce, marketplaces, merchant integrations, or regulated environments.

- You’re curious and unafraid of new tech, but you also bring structure when things get messy. You make sense of vague requirements and turn them into working solutions.
- You’d rather ship a prototype today than debate one for a week. You like getting close to the problem, learning from users, testing ideas quickly, and improving based on what actually works.
- You’re pragmatic about AI. You’re excited by what it can unlock, but you care about quality, safety, trust, and real customer value — not just hype.
- You thrive in a team: you listen, challenge, collaborate, and share what you learn. You communicate clearly in English, both when things go well and when they don’t.
