WHO ARE YOU?

• You are finishing or have recently completed a Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Industrial Economics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Economics or Business Administration.
• You write code, and SQL and Python (or R) are languages you are genuinely comfortable with and have experience with, whether from coursework, personal projects, hackathons, or internships.
• You are proactive towards AI and already use tools like Claude, GitHub Copilot or similar in your own work.
• You understand the fundamentals of finance. You know your way around a Profit & Loss statement, a Balance Sheet and a Cash Flow statement, and you understand how they connect.
• You have solid business sense. You can look at a dataset and ask the right questions, not just run the right queries. You care about quality and details, but you also care about shipping things that matter.
• You communicate well and collaborate naturally in English to work closely with people across the business, from fellow analysts to senior leadership.
• As a person, you believe that making your colleagues better makes you better. You are naturally curious and thrive challenging the status quo by finding ways to make things work better. You take complete ownership of your work, operating independently while knowing when to reach out for support or a second opinion.

Bonus Points:

• Experience with Snowflake, Git / Bash, dbt, Tableau or similar tools from coursework, projects or internships. Knowledge of how APIs work, and experience with them is also useful.
• Familiarity with version control (Git) and modern development practices in a data analytics context.
• Exposure to ERP systems, financial consolidation or financial planning tools.
• A portfolio of personal projects, open-source contributions or anything else that shows you build things on your own initiative.

WHAT’S THE JOB LIKE?

As our new Finance Data Analyst, you’re joining our Finance Systems & Processes team: we are at the intersection of finance, data science/engineering and AI by building and evolving the analytical models that power decision-making across Vend's finance community.

What you will do:

• Help design, develop and maintain our financial analytical model. This means bringing together financial actuals, plans, forecasts, macroeconomic data and operational volumes into insights that the finance community can act on.
• Use AI and automation to improve how our financial systems and processes work, whether that means better accuracy, faster turnaround or less manual effort.
• Work with data in Snowflake, Python and dbt to ensure our financial data is accurate, well-structured and well-governed.
• Create dashboards and reports in Tableau that give the finance community clear, self-service access to the data they need.
• Train, support and advise colleagues across finance. You will help drive adoption, build data literacy and make sure people get real value from the tools we build.
• Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis, which may be anything from a targeted reconciliation to a complex multi-year forecast.
• Look for opportunities to streamline and automate manual work. You instinctively ask, "Can this be done better?" and take initiative to build it!
