Would you like to work on some of the most complex and high-impact incidents in the maritime industry - in a role where your expertise truly matters?

We are looking for an experienced and driven Senior Claims Adviser to join our Large & Complex Claims (LCC) team.

The work location will preferably be in Arendal, Norway.

In this role, you will take part in handling some of Gard’s most challenging insurance cases, which often carry significant operational, financial, and reputational consequences for Gard and our clients.

You will work closely with colleagues across disciplines and geographies, contributing to sound decisions and robust outcome for the cases.

The LCC team brings together specialists with deep and complementary expertise. We collaborate closely with claims handlers in our global market teams to ensure claims handling according to best practice throughout the process - from initial response to final resolution.

What you will be doing:

  • Handle and contribute to large and complex claims and incidents as part of a global multidisciplinary team
  • Provide advise and support strategic decision-making in demanding situations
  • Contribute to the development of best practice
  • Share insights internally and externally through our “Safer with Gard” initiatives
  • Be an internal resource within your area of expertise for colleagues and clients

Who we are looking for:

You are an experienced professional with strong integrity and the ability to build trust.

We believe you have:

  • A background as a Naval Architect, Marine Engineer, or similar
  • Relevant experience from complex operations and project environments
  • A proactive and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Sound commercial understanding and negotiation skills
  • Intellectual curiosity and a willingness to share knowledge
