Position Summary:

The Sr Manager, Co-Manufacturing & Supplier FSQ supports the development, oversight, and execution of co-manufacturers and supplier compliance programs across Bonduelle Americas’ supply chain in support of business objectives. This role ensures that all external manufacturing partners, ingredients suppliers, agricultural sources, and packaging suppliers comply with all applicable food safety, quality, regulatory, and Bonduelle standards including any applicable international standards.

Reporting to the Director, Supply Chain Food Safety & Quality, the Sr Manager, Co-Manufacturing & Supplier FSQ serves as the corporate authority for external food safety risk management, driving standardization, continuous improvement and protection of brand integrity across the extended supply chain.

The role oversees internal controls, auditing systems, and risk-based compliance testing to proactively identify, detect, and correct non-compliance. Working closely with cross-functional partners, the Sr Manager, Co-Manufacturing & Supplier FSQ embeds supplier excellence into innovation, commercialization, and operations—enabling speed, confidence, and integrity in a fast-changing supply chain environment.

Primary Responsibilities

Supplier Compliance Governance

  • Lead the corporate strategy, policies, and standards for co-manufacturing and supplier food safety and quality prograEstablish the risk-based frameworks for supplier approval, qualification, and monitoring, and performance management of co-manufacturers and suppliers.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for co-manufacturer supplier compliance, food safety risk, and regulatory expectations
  • Co-manufacturer Oversight

    • Own the co-manufacturer approval governance process, including due diligence, contract requirements, and ongoing performance management
    • Includes oversight and management of Bonduelle Quality teams with onsite presence at co-manufacturers
    • Oversee co-manufacturer audits, GFSI certifications, compliance to food safety and quality standards, and certify and approve all products being produced at co-manufacturer for Bonduelle Americas
    • Lead investigation, escalation, and resolution of co-manufacturer food safety, quality, or regulatory incidents
    • Partner with Operations, Procurement, and Legal to ensure food safety and quality expectations are embedded into co-manufacturing agreements

    Supplier Food Safety & Quality

    • Leads supplier risk assessments, segmentation, and prioritization based on product, process, geographic, and regulatory risk
    • Supports in maintaining supplier compliance documentation in Supply line or other systems

    Audit, Corrective Action, & Performance Management

    • Oversee second and third party audit programs for co-manufacturers and suppliers
    • Reviews and approve supplier audit outcomes, corrective action plans, and effectiveness verification.
    • Escalates systems or high risk supplier issues to the Director of Supply Chain SQF and lead cross-functional resolution efforts
    • Develops and maintains supplier compliance scorecards, KPIs, and dashboards to monitor performance and risk trends
    • Drive proactive risk mitigation strategies and continuous improvement initiatives with high and medium risk suppliers

    Regulatory, Customer, & Crisis Management

    • Lead external food safety incidents, recalls, or withdrawals involving co-manufacturers or suppliers in collaboration with Crisis Management Teams
    • Provide support during regulatory inspections and customer audits related to supplier compliance as needed
    • Partner closely with Procurement, Supply Chain, Product Development, and Operations to integrate compliance into supplier selection and sourcing decisions
    • Provide guidance and governance during new supplier onboarding, product development, or supplier changes.

    Capability Building & Continuous Improvement

    • Develop training, tools, and guidance for co-manufacturers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
    • Coach site and regional food safety leaders to ensure consistent implementation of corporate standards.
    • Monitor emerging risks, regulations, and industry trends impacting external manufacturing and suppliers.
    • Assist with special projects or other duties, as required / assigned

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in food science or related field required. (Master’s preferred)
    • 10+ years of progressive experience in food safety and quality within food manufacturing, including significant experience with co-manufacturers and suppliers
    • Experience working with domestic and international co-manufacturing partners preferred.
    • Lead Auditor certification on a GSFI recognized scheme (BRC, SQF, FSSC 22000) or recognized audit certification (ASQ CQA, etc.)
    • Understanding of relevant regulatory standards from agencies, such as FDA, USDA, CFIA, etc.
    • PCQI Certificate (preferred).
    • HACCP Certificate (required).
    • Familiarity with equipment hygienic design and sanitation principles (preferred).
    • Proficiency with auditing checklists, and corrective action management systems.
    • Comprehensive knowledge in:
    • Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) for food manufacturing and distribution
    • Pre-requisite programs for the food industry
    • Food safety plans and HACCP Plans
    • Quality auditing principles and management
    • Current regulations within the food industry, i.e. FSMA, etc.
    • Familiarity with GFSI schemes for food manufacturing facilities for food products, food packaging, storage and distribution.
    • Prior experience with FDA and/or USDA (preferred).

    Additional Qualifications

    • Experience with Microsoft Suite (required). Experience with Tableau or similar data visualization/analytics tools preferred.
    • Personable - able to communicate and engage well with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Good analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
    • Ability to ask questions and present findings.
    • Ability to travel 50-75%.
    • Ability to conduct supplier audits and climb stairs
