Do you want to build systems that handle millions of payments every day?
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Payments Core area in Copenhagen. You will work on systems that ensure payments are processed reliably, quickly, and at scale across the Nordics.
Vipps MobilePay is used by millions of people across the Nordics, with millions of transactions processed every day.
To support this scale, we continuously improve how we build and run our core payment systems. This includes a strong focus on reliability, performance, and simplicity, while handling increasing volumes and complexity.

What this role is about 💡
As a Software Engineer in Payments Core, you will build and maintain backend systems that keep money moving between users, banks, and partners.
You will be involved in the full lifecycle of the systems you work on, from development to production. You will also contribute to improving how we build and operate our platform.
More concretely, you will:
- Develop backend solutions using C#, SQL, and cloud technologies in Azure
- Take ownership of your code in production, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and improving performance
- Work with observability tools such as Grafana and Splunk
- Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders across the Payments area
- Contribute to improving tooling, standards, and ways of working
- Use AI tools in your daily work to improve efficiency, quality, and problem solving

Skills & Requirements
What we are looking for ✅
- A relevant degree in technology, engineering, or a related field
- Experience with backend development, for example using C#, SQL, or similar technologies
- An interest in using AI tools to improve how you work and build software
- A sense of ownership and attention to quality in production
- A proactive and curious approach, with a willingness to learn
- Good communication skills in English. Danish is a plus
We also welcome candidates early in their careers who are motivated to learn and grow.
