About this role:

The Mechanical Engineer role is responsible for leading both sustaining engineering efforts and new product development projects from concept through production. The position involves designing and developing mechanical components and systems, creating detailed CAD models and drawings with proper GD&T, supporting prototyping and testing, and transitioning designs into manufacturable hardware. The engineer collaborates cross-functionally with electrical, software, manufacturing, sales, suppliers, and customers to ensure design compatibility, performance, and cost objectives are met. Responsibilities also include reviewing engineering analyses, supporting fixture design and test plans, conducting root cause investigations for production or field issues, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, preparing technical documentation, and providing technical support for both new and legacy products while adhering to established release-to-production protocols

Skills & Requirements

Must haves:

  1. 3–7 years of mechanical engineering experience in product design and development

  1. Experience supporting both sustaining engineering and new product development projects

  1. Strong background in sheet metal and/or structural steel design (vibration, shock loading, or structural performance considerations)

  1. Proficiency in CAD design and creation of detailed drawings with GD&T

  1. Experience supporting prototyping, testing, and transition to production

  1. Strong understanding of materials selection and design for manufacturability

  1. Ability to perform root cause analysis and resolve production or field issues

Nice to Have:

  1. Experience with FMEA

  1. CFD and/or thermal dynamics knowledge

  1. Experience working with castings

  1. Knowledge of electric motors and related mechanical integration
