Role Summary
This role supports network construction delivery for Small Cell/Node projects, managing both fiber and wireless construction activities. The Construction Manager will oversee vendors, schedules, budgets, and field execution to ensure projects are completed on time, safely, and within budget.
The hiring manager is ideally looking for Small Cell experience, but a strong Wireless Construction Manager is also acceptable given market constraints. Due to upcoming changes related to Arium, the team is looking to fill this role quickly.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Construction Management
- Manage multiple small cell/node projects simultaneously
- Coordinate construction schedules with vendors, inspectors, and internal teams
- Create and manage work packages for vendors
- Resolve construction issues in the field proactively
- Ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget
- Maintain clear and timely communication with stakeholders
Technical Oversight
- Review and interpret:
- Fiber construction drawings and designs
- Small cell/node construction drawings and designs
- Oversee:
- OSP fiber construction (bore, trench, aerial placement, leased duct)
- Node construction, foundations, pole installation
- Power installation, RF component installation, troubleshooting
- Understand and manage:
- Process for bringing metered power to small cell sites
- 811 utility locate process and subsurface construction safety
- OTDR, PIM, and SWEEP testing techniques
Financial & Administrative
- Prepare and submit purchase orders
- Process and track contractor invoices
- Support project financials, forecasting, and milestone tracking
- Track project deliverables and deadlines
- Assist with reporting, invoicing, and closeout packages
- Update company systems and attend cross-functional meetings
Reporting & KPIs
- Track, analyze, and report project progress
- Identify risks and communicate issues before they reach critical status

- On-Time Install
- Fiber Complete for Small Cell
- LCD Installed
- Enterprise Revenue
- Vendor & Vehicle Safety
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Certifications
- High School Diploma (required)
- Valid Driver’s License (required)
- OSHA 10 (preferred)
Experience
- Minimum 3+ years of telecom / wireless construction experience
- Experience with Small Cell, Node construction, and design
- General knowledge of OSP fiber construction (aerial & underground)
- Familiarity with:
- NESC, NEC, and OSHA standards
- Construction management processes
- Budget development and execution
Skills
- Strong project and construction management skills

- Proficiency with MS Office, Excel, and SmartSheets

Working Conditions
