We are on a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Returns Clerk within our Industrial Parkway facility.

As a Returns Clerk, is a highly capable, energetic individual who is responsible for evaluating, testing, and processing customer and warranty returns, determining final disposition of claims, and supporting rework and quality initiatives. As an instrumental team member, he or she will work closely with Segment Quality team to analyze product failures, perform root cause analysis, conduct testing, reclaim or rework products, and ensure accurate documentation and data reporting.

General Responsibilities

  • Analyzes product returned from customers as necessary to determine failure modes and determine acceptance or rejection of Warranty/Customer claims.
  • Perform inspection and testing of returned finished products and components.
  • Properly document test results, findings, and final disposition of returned items.
  • Records test data, evaluate data to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
  • Sets up and performs tests on parts, or products to measure performance characteristics
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Interpret work instructions. Ability to read electrical schematics and understanding of electrical components.
  • Perform rework activities as requested by Segment Quality (including repair, re-labeling, and repackaging).
  • Reclaim tested products such as air conditioners, refrigerators, and coolers.
  • Repackage items damaged in the warehouse, including inspection and testing when applicable.
  • Inspect parts related to customer complaints or SOHN issues
  • Must maintain open communication with reporting manager and team regarding test results.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Skills & Requirements

The ideal candidate for this role will bring demonstrated success in manufacturing as well as having acquired the following qualifications and experiences.

  • High School Diploma or GED required, additional education a plus.
  • Experience – previous manufacturing experience preferred, previous experience in Quality or related field preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED required; additional technical education preferred.
  • Prior manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in Quality, RGA, rework, or related technical field preferred.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer, tow motor experience preferred

To be successful in this role, we believe that you possess the following skills, competencies & characteristics:

  • Ability to read and record current amperage and temperature.
  • Basic understanding of HVAC preferred.
  • Basic electrical knowledge with 120V AC and 12V DC preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability Common knowledge and usage of the following tools and various testing equipment:
    • 110 Power
    • 12 V Power
    • Voltmeter
    • Vacuum Pump for removing R134A and R410A
    • Propane
    • Multi Meter
    • Pressure Gauge
    • Screw Gun
    • Sniffer For Coolant Leak
    • Hi Pot Tester
    • Die Injector
  • Computer skills using ERP/MRP systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time, lifting up to 50 lbs. and perform other basic physical demands of the position as needed.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Flexibility to perform additional tasks as business needs require

This position works onsite at our Industrial Parkway location in Elkhart, IN.
