We are looking for a Cloud Data Platform Engineer to help us build Handelsbanken's future cloud-based Data Platform to meet the bank's future data & analytics needs. You will be part of a tight-knit, rapidly evolving team, working on one of the bank's most strategic platforms.

Your Team
You will be part of a small team of technical experts who are all passionate about cloud, data and being service-minded. Your team is responsible for building and operating the technical foundations of the cloud data platform to enable data engineers from around the bank to build high-performant data pipelines and data products. The team is also responsible for building and maintaining the data ingestion pipelines to make business data available to data engineers.

Your role
As a platform engineer your primary role will be focussed on building, configuring, scaling, operating and maintaining all of the components that comprise the Azure Data Platform. In addition, you will also actively work with configuring various data integrations and data ingestion pipelines to make business data available to data engineers and end-users.

Typical tasks that the role includes are:

  • Deploying and configuring new services and integrations using an Infrastructure-as-Code approach
  • Creating and maintaining infrastructure build & release pipelines
  • Continually optimising / automating routine tasks and procedures
  • Ensuring that appropriate cost and platform monitoring capabilities are in place
  • Building a professional network to foster effective cooperation with other areas of the IT-organisation where the team has dependencies (such as the IT security and Infrastructure provisioning divisions)
  • Working closely with data engineers to secure optimised platform utilisation
  • Configuring and enabling data integrations across a variety of patterns (API, file, events, CDC etc.) to support data ingestion into the platform
  • Building and maintaining data ingestion pipelines
  • Working actively to build capabilities to actively monitor the data quality of data coming into the data platform
  • Actively participating in, and contributing to team planning ceremonies (stand-ups, backlog refinement, increment planning etc.)

Kvalifikationer

Your profile
We are looking for someone who has a demonstrable, "hands-on" track record of building, implementing, operating, and scaling an enterprise-scale cloud data platform, preferably built around Azure Databricks. In addition, you have a strong understanding of data engineering, including building and optimizing data pipelines and data products (the 'Data-Ops' flow). As we collaborate across the entire group, you need to be proficient in both Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

The technical skills we are looking for include:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Databricks
  • Excellent experience in building and deploying infrastructure using an automated Infrastructure as Code (IAC)
  • Experience working with DevOps tools such as JIRA/Azure Devops
  • Good Azure cloud foundation skills (security, networking, encryption, access management etc.)
  • Experience with data ingestion and data ingestion pipelines using various patterns (CDC, events, streaming, file, API etc.)
  • Working knowledge of data engineering, with hands-on experience of developing pipelines and products (experience with DBT is a plus)
  • Knowledge, or experience, of using Microsoft Fabric or other similar SaaS data platforms is an advantage
  • Knowledge of data governance and data governance tools is also an advantage
