Director of Business Development - Engineering

  • Applications are considered on a rolling basis

Electric power will replace the combustion engine in automotive and industrial applications. The electricity grid needs energy storage to handle higher power and the intermittent nature of sustainable energy. The corded and already cordless portable appliances have an ever-increasing need for better and cheaper batteries too.

The market for battery electrified products is expanding rapidly and optimized products and solutions will be a crucial part of the transition to a sustainable future.

We are looking for a Director of Business Development Engineering to articulate and drive our technical offerings.

You and your team of Lead Engineers support our business segments in the technical dialogues with our customers. You collaborate with our customer’s technical experts to deeply understand their requirements and needs. Your team is also responsible for collecting and making sense of competitive intelligence.

Internally you balance production cost and performance tradeoffs and translate these market needs into product strategies and technical roadmaps that you align with our product research & development, as well as industrialization, production, sourcing, connectivity and other central teams and processes.

In addition to this you will be involved in market activities, attend and speak at customer and industry meetings and conferences, drive internal forums and more, in order to continuously evaluate and further develop our product and services portfolio.

The role is an integral part of Northvolt’s product strategy. It requires solid leadership skills, deep technical understanding and the ability to set and communicate technical requirements to our engineering departments and management team.

You will be part of the Business Development team and work closely with our Automotive, Grid, Industrial and Portable market segment specialists to sell and deliver superior products and solutions to our customers. You will part of the Business Development Management Team and report to our Chief Business Development Officer.

You will be based in Stockholm, Sweden and travel on a weekly basis to our customers in Europe.

Apply with cover letter and CV or your complete LinkedIn profile.
