Sustainability Specialist

We are seeking a Sustainability Specialist to contribute to Varner’s work with responsible business conduct, human rights due diligence, supply chain management, and tasks related to general sustainability.

This role is part of the sustainability team, offering the opportunity to engage in a professional environment and collaborate closely with colleagues at both the Service Office in Slependen and the Global Production Offices located in key production markets. The sustainability team also includes specialists in Environment and Quality Assurance, with whom you will work closely.

The role reports to the Global CSR Manager.

Varner has an Office First Policy, and the workplace is at the Service Office in Slependen. This role requires both valid work permit and residency permit in Norway.

Kompetanse

In this position, you will contribute to:

  • Further development and implementation of Varner’s procedures and framework for due diligence.
  • Screening, onboarding and follow-up of external brands and suppliers within indirect spend/group purchasing.
  • Follow-up of suppliers for own production.
  • Participation in relevant projects.
  • Execution and further development of internal training.
  • Reporting and communication related to Varner’s sustainability work.
  • Assisting with administration and analysis of sustainability data.
  • Tasks related to general sustainability work.


Experience and education:

  • Minimum of 3 years of higher education.
  • 2-3 years of relevant work experience related to sustainability.
  • Knowledge of relevant frameworks for due diligence for responsible business conduct.
  • Good oral and written communication skills in one Scandinavian language and English.
  • Experience with Power BI is an advantage
