Job Description

As a Cruise Coordinator, you play a key role in ensuring smooth operations and unforgettable guest experiences for every ship call, turnaround and SHOREX day. You are the operational hub between guides, partners, transport providers, and our internal teams—making sure everything is ready, everyone is informed, and guests feel well taken care of from the moment they arrive.
In this role, you will:
• Coordinate daily plans and schedules for turnarounds and excursions
• Manage bookings and updates for buses, museums, galleries, and Camp Barentz
• Ensure all relevant systems and partners are kept up to date
• Be present on the pier during operations, supporting guides and approving departures
• Handle on the day changes and requests to maintain a seamless experience
• Collaborate closely with cruise managers, activity coordinators, and external partners
• Monitor flight and operational changes and communicate updates when needed
• Contribute to safety and quality by completing necessary reports
• Guide groups when operational needs require it

This is a seasonal, hands‑on position with a strong focus on guest experience, where no two days are alike.

Skills & Requirements

To succeed as a Cruise Coordinator, we are looking for you who:

  • Have good knowledge of administrative systems, especially Microsoft 365 – with solid proficiency in Excel
  • Is stress-tolerant and thrives in an operational environment where things can change quickly
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken, is required. Norwegian is preferred, and additional languages are an advantage.
  • Have good knowledge of Svalbard and preferably experience from service or the tourism industry. Completed SGO training is an advantage.
  • Have a positive, committed, and cooperative work style
  • Keeps a cool head when the going gets tough, and makes good decisions under pressure
  • Have strong communication skills and the ability to provide clear and precise information to many different actors
