(Sr.) Production Manager - Poland

Northvolt is establishing its first facility to industrialize and produce battery systems. In order to meet the increased demand for complete battery solutions on the European market, we are establishing a highly automated, state-of-the-art production facility for battery modules and energy storage solutions in Gdansk, Poland.

The (Sr.) Production Manager oversees Northvolt Poland ongoing operations and procedures. As a key member of the senior management team you will establish policies that promote company culture and vision through its operations. You will be responsible for the efficiency of the production, which includes maintaining control of diverse operations and establishing and following a set of policies and processes. You will work closely overseas and cooperate with Northvolt Poland managers of individual departments as well as Northvolts Stockholm battery system division. You will be in charge of building a world class manufacturing organization.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and management.
  • Responsible for running the company to achieve and surpass profitability, cash flow and production and other business goals and objectives.
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Dedication to building and growing a strong and stable workforce.
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership skills, including the ability to recognize and cultivate rising talents.
  • High-level understanding of all business functions such as IT, HR, Finance, Supply Chain, but especially high-volume manufacturing.
  • Aptitude in sound decision-making and problem-solving in pressured situations.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, policies, processes, and staff.
  • Experience from greenfield projects is valuable but not must.

Skills & Requirements

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in electric, electronics, or electro mechanical engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years leadership experience in a high-volume manufacturing.
  • Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and budget execution.
  • Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Understanding of data analysis and performance/operation metrics.
  • Entrepreneur, team builder, able to assess and handle risks.
  • Fluent English and Polish.

About the company

Northvolt was founded in 2016 with the mission to build the world’s greenest battery cell, with a minimal carbon footprint and the highest ambitions for recycling, to enable the European transition to renewable energy. Northvolt’s team of experts is building the next generation battery cell factory focused on process innovation, scale and vertical integration. Once completed, it will be Europe’s largest battery cell factory and produce 32 GWh worth of capacity annually.
