Main goal

Reporting to the Senior HB Venue and Operations Manager in Nyon, the EURO Broadcast Venue Manager has responsibility for the venue-related broadcast operations of the UEFA EURO 2028 venues. The position will be based in Nyon.

The role manages UEFA’s host broadcast operations and oversees and protects the interests of the unilateral broadcast partners as well as the mission of the Media Rights & Production Services sub-division. The Broadcast Venue Manager supervises the venue-based management teams and organises the venue-based multilateral and unilateral television operations.

The ideal candidate should have very good host broadcast and production experience and understand the concepts of TV broadcasting and host broadcast venue management. Experience leading broadcast operations or in a managerial role at a sporting event of a comparable size (such as UEFA EURO, FIFA World Cup or the Olympic Games) is essential. The successful candidate should be culturally sensitive, an excellent communicator, a team leader and able to manage a multinational team in a foreign environment.

Key responsibilities:

General:

  • Holding overall responsibility for the venue-related broadcast operations
  • Organising and implementing venue-based multilateral television operations, including unilateral services offered at the venues
  • Acting as the principal contact with UEFA and liaising with the UEFA Tournament Operations sub-division and Venue Operations unit to ensure smooth host broadcast and unilateral planning at each venue
  • Coordinating and overseeing the planning and installation of all equipment and facilities for host broadcast service providers

Pre-tournament:

  • During the tournament preparation phase, holding overall responsibility for the venue-related broadcast coordination and operations of the venues
  • Preparing and overseeing the handover of the stadiums to the respective Broadcast Venue Managers
  • Managing, allocating and coordinating the venue-based multilateral television operations including unilateral services offered at half of UEFA EURO 2028 venues in close coordination with marketing and host broadcast colleagues in Nyon
  • Coordinating closely and cooperating with the EURO 2028 operations team

In-tournament, at their assigned venue:

  • Holding overall responsibility for all venue-related broadcast operations
  • Organising and implementing the venue-based multilateral television operations, including unilateral services
  • Managing and supervising the venue-based management teams
  • Coordinating all host broadcast venue operations activities and acting as the point of contact for the international broadcast centre
  • Ensuring that all facilities and services booked by unilateral broadcast partners are in place and delivered, as advised by the Senior Broadcast Liaison Officer

Skills & Requirements

Requirements

Experience:

  • From 4 to 6 years' experience in a leading capacity in broadcast venue operations for a major sporting event

Education:

  • Bachelor's in business administration or any other relevant field

Languages:

  • English / Proficient

Other requirements:

- Relocation to Switzerland/France is expected

- Very good host broadcast and production experience and understanding of TV broadcasting, host broadcasting and broadcast venue management

- Quick understanding, attention to detail and good judgement

- Strong team player with solutions-based approach

- Very good communicator and able to adapt to different cultures
