We are currently hiring Senior React Native Engineer to be based in Germany.

Your mission at Epassi:
You will be part of a cross-functional product team responsible for building and evolving a modern mobile application that supports Epassi’s product vision. We are adding this role to strengthen our mobile engineering capabilities and to establish a solid, scalable foundation for a React Native app that is built for long-term growth.
In this role, you will take ownership of mobile-specific system areas, contribute to architectural decisions, and help shape how we build, operate, and continuously improve our mobile solutions across the Epassi group.

Your responsibilities will be:

  • Designing, building, and maintaining a high-quality React Native mobile application
  • Contributing to a scalable, modular, and maintainable mobile architecture
  • Ensuring high standards for code quality, testing, performance, and security
  • Collaborating closely with Product, Design, Backend, QA, and DevOps
  • Actively contributing to architectural discussions and technical improvements

You’ll be successful in this role if you:

  • Deliver a stable and scalable mobile app with a clean, well-structured codebase
  • Establish and evolve architectural patterns that support long-term development
  • Take ownership and responsibility for the quality and reliability of mobile features
  • Proactively identify and reduce technical debt
  • Communicate clearly and work effectively within a cross-functional team
  • Support reliable delivery and smooth operation following a “you build it, you run it” mindset

What you’ll be doing (daily):

  • Developing mobile features using React Native and TypeScript
  • Shaping and refining the mobile app architecture with scalability and modularization in mind
  • Writing clean, testable, and maintainable code
  • Reviewing code and providing constructive feedback to peers
  • Integrating REST and/or GraphQL APIs in collaboration with Backend Engineers
  • Working closely with Product Owners and Designers to refine requirements
  • Monitoring app behavior, analyzing issues, and supporting incident resolution
  • Supporting build, release, and deployment processes for iOS and Android
  • Participating in agile ceremonies such as planning, refinements, reviews, and retrospectives
  • Documenting architectural decisions and technical solutions

What you should bring:

  • Several years of professional experience in mobile development
  • Strong experience building production-ready applications with React Native
  • A solid background in modern software engineering practices
  • Experience working in agile, cross-functional product teams
  • A pragmatic mindset toward balancing architecture, quality, and delivery

Your language profile:

  • Fluent in English (working language)
  • German is a plus, but not required

Your track record:

  • Successfully delivered mobile applications or major features end to end
  • Contributed to or shaped scalable mobile architectures
  • Taken ownership of technical areas in long-lived software products
  • Improved code quality, testing practices, or system stability in previous roles
  • Worked constructively with product and design stakeholders to deliver user value
