About the role

We’re looking for a proactive and customer-focused Desk-Based Account Manager to join our busy Packaging and components sales team based at our offices in Gravesend. In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing day-to-day relationships with customers, handling incoming enquiries, following up on sales leads, and helping grow revenue through outstanding service and account development. You’ll also support broader commercial activities, including undertaking market research to input into new product ideas, helping the business stay ahead of trends and customer expectations.

What will you do?

Sales & Customer Support

  • Manage a portfolio of existing customers, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and regular repeat business working closely with our External Sales Teams.
  • Handle incoming enquiries, follow up the sales Teams prospective customer visits, and convert sales leads into orders.
  • Identify opportunities to grow accounts through upselling and cross-selling related packaging products or services.
  • Work closely with the field sales team to ensure a joined-up approach to customer accounts.
  • Maintain accurate records in the CRM system, including quotes, and customer interactions.

Marketing & Product Development

  • Conduct outbound calls to both new and existing customers to promote products and services, while supporting marketing campaigns and new product development initiatives.
  • Support the development and launch of new products by offering frontline input on what customers are asking for and how products are received.
  • Work closely with the marketing department on campaigns to promote BEWI products and services.
  • Keep up to date with what’s happening in the packaging and wider construction market, including customer trends, competitor activity, and product innovations.
  • Gather customer feedback and share insights with the commercial and product teams.

Collaboration & Coordination

  • Work with our internal and external teams as and when required to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Contribute to monthly sales reviews and help track performance against targets.

Your profile

  • The individual must have the right of residence and to work in the UK.
  • Experience in a sales or account management role, packaging . trade, or B2B environments.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build great relationships over the phone and by email.
  • Commercially aware, with an interest in what’s happening in the market and what customers care about.
  • Comfortable working with sales targets and performance metrics.
  • Organised, self-motivated, and confident using basic IT tools (e.g. Outlook, Excel, CRM systems).
