Job Description

Interested in scaling a real-time computer vision platform from early production to broader commercial rollout? Eminus Industries is now looking for a skilled DevOps Engineer to strengthen our growing team of experts.

What will you be working on?

You will work on StoreSense AI, our production-ready computer vision analytics solution for the retail sector. The system improves safety and operational efficiency by detecting incidents such as theft or misplaced items directly from security camera feeds. It is already in pilot and production use, and we are now scaling it further.

The platform processes large volumes of live and recorded video data in real time, where reliability, performance, and architectural clarity are essential. The application stack runs on AWS cloud infrastructure supporting a React frontend and Python backend, requiring robust deployment pipelines, container orchestration, and monitoring across AI-driven analytics workloads.

DevOps tech stack: CI/CD, AWS, Docker, Terraform, Kubernetes, Ansible, GitHub Actions, VMware/Proxmox, Networking, with a gradual transition toward hybrid cloud and on-premise infrastructure.

Your responsibilities:

Your main focus is to ensure stable, scalable, and well-documented infrastructure across both AWS and local data center environments. You will design and maintain CI/CD pipelines, manage backend infrastructure and databases, and ensure that container-based environments are built and operated in a controlled and reproducible way.

A key part of your role is planning and executing controlled migrations from AWS to on-prem servers without service interruptions. You will also be responsible for structured and documented deployment of server and application environments, as well as ensuring system stability, monitoring, performance optimization, and scalability as data volumes continue to grow.

You will work closely with our development team and contribute to infrastructure-level decisions that directly impact product reliability and long-term architecture.

What makes you a great fit?

You are a DevOps professional with solid experience from production-grade on-prem environments as well as AWS. You are comfortable taking ownership, making infrastructure decisions, and executing migrations without downtime.

You understand Linux servers and networking in practice, and you approach infrastructure systematically and pragmatically. You are self-driven, responsible, and motivated by building things properly from the ground up in a growing startup environment.

We require you to have:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in DevOps or infrastructure engineering
  • Experience working with both cloud (AWS) and on-premise environments
  • Experience in planning and executing infrastructure migrations
  • Good experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions)
  • Solid hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code and orchestration tools such as Terraform, Kubernetes, and Ansible
  • Good knowledge of Linux servers, networking, and container-based environments (Docker)
  • Have a full working proficiency in English

We consider as an asset:

  • Basic proficiency in Finnish
  • Experience with DynamoDB, Redis, or high-volume data systems
  • Experience with video or real-time data processing
  • Experience working in an early-stage startup or scaling a SaaS product

Why join us?

  • Build and shape the company’s infrastructure from the ground up while leading the cloud-to-on-prem architecture transition
  • Work in a low-hierarchy team where decisions are fast and your input truly matters
  • Build technology that improves real-world safety in retail and beyond
  • Grow with a well-funded startup entering a strong commercialization phase
  • Enjoy a modern office in Otaniemi with a flexible and pragmatic working culture
  • Receive comprehensive health insurance and Smartum benefits as we scale our benefits package

Practicalities:

This is a full-time and permanent position, and you will be employed directly by Eminus Industries. The preferred starting date is as soon as possible. The role is based in Otaniemi, Espoo, and we hope you are willing to work on-site regularly as part of a flexible hybrid model. Please note that the selected candidate must be willing to undergo a security clearance conducted by the Finnish Security and Intelligence Service (Supo). Salary ranges between 5000-7000€/month (gross) and will be negotiated individually based on your experience.

Join us in building next-generation computer vision solutions with real-world impact.

Please submit your CV and motivation letter in PDF-format by the 18th of March via our application system. A motivation letter is optional, but with a role-specific motivation letter, you can provide more information about your relevant skills and why this would be an interesting opportunity for you. Remember to use the application system; we do not accept applications by email. We want to ensure that all applicants can participate in the process equally, and we will take individual accessibility needs into account where necessary.
