What will you be doing?

Singa is a Helsinki-based technology company transforming the global karaoke industry with a streaming platform used by over 2 million users and 1,600+ professional venues across 34 countries. As a Senior Backend Engineer (Python), you’ll join Singa’s product organization and play a key role in designing and scaling our backend systems.

You’ll maintain and evolve our production Django/DRF API while building new FastAPI-based services with SQLAlchemy. Your work will directly impact how millions of users experience karaoke — from smooth streaming to secure payments and global integrations.

In this role, you’ll design scalable architectures, optimize multi-tenant systems, and collaborate closely with frontend and data teams. You’ll help shape our backend platform as we continue to grow internationally and modernize our stack.

We require you to have:

• Minimum of 6 years of backend development experience with Python
• Fluency in Django and Django Rest Framework
• PostgreSQL expertise
• Understand scalable API design and system integrations
• Solid debugging and observability skills using monitoring tools
• Full working proficiency in English

We consider as an asset:

• Experience with FastAPI and SQLAlchemy
• Familiarity with clean architecture and modern coding practices
• Hands-on experience with AWS, testing, and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience leveraging AI coding assistants in development workflows

Practicalities:

This is a full-time and permanent position, and you will be employed directly by Singa. The preferred start date is as soon as possible. The role will be located in Helsinki, and we hope you are able to work at the office at least a few days per week as part of a hybrid model. Salary in this position is 5500-7000 €/month (gross) depending on the level of your experience, and will be negotiated individually.
