Role Overview
The QA Manager is a leadership role responsible for owning quality strategy, execution, and people management across multiple products and teams. This position leads a large, multi-layered QA organization and plays a critical role in delivery readiness, release quality, risk management, and continuous improvement.
This role combines strategic ownership with strong execution oversight, acting as the primary QA leader for cross-functional initiatives and a key partner to Engineering, Product, and Program Management.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Strategy & Governance
· Define and own the QA strategy, standards, and best practices.
· Ensure consistent test strategy, test plans, and traceability.
· Drive risk-based testing and define quality KPIs.
· Provide clear quality status and risk reporting to stakeholders.
People Leadership & Team Management
· Lead, develop, and manage QA Team Leads, QA Engineers, and QA Testers.
· Own performance management, career development, hiring, and onboarding.
· Ensure capacity planning, workload balance, and team sustainability.
· Build a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.
Delivery & Execution Oversight
· Ensure QA execution aligns with sprint goals and release timelines.
· Participate in release readiness, go/no-go decisions, and escalations.
· Proactively identify risks and define mitigation plans.
· Ensure quality criteria are part of the Definition of Done.
Automation, AI & Technical Direction
· Own the QA automation and AI roadmap.
· Drive adoption of automation-first and AI-assisted testing strategies.
· Oversee integration of automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps).
· Ensure automation stability, coverage, and maintainability.
Cross-Functional Leadership
· Act as the primary QA point of contact for Product, Engineering, and DevOps.
· Influence decisions using data, metrics, and impact analysis.
· Ensure transparent communication during high-pressure releases.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
· 10+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, with 5+ years in leadership or management roles.
· Advanced certifications or management training.
· Proven experience leading and developing QA teams across multiple initiatives or products.
· Demonstrated, hands-on experience applying AI to testing, including areas such as:
o AI-assisted test creation and maintenance
o Intelligent automation and self-healing tests
o AI-supported defect analysis, prioritization, or risk identification
· Strong background in manual testing, automation strategy, and Agile delivery.
· Experience working with CI/CD environments and global stakeholders.
· Fluent English (spoken and written).
