We are currently hiring Backend Developer (Salesforce) to be based in Milan.

Your mission at Epassi

As part of the Engineering team at Epassi, you will play a key role in shaping the evolution of our digital corporate welfare platforms. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the design, development, and continuous improvement of reliable, scalable, and user‑centric solutions that support thousands of employees and partner companies across Italy.

  • What you’ll be doing (daily):

    Collaborate with product managers, analysts, and developers to analyze requirements and design new features and enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain backend services using Java and Apex, aligned with the architecture evolution toward an AWS‑based middleware.
  • Maintain and extend Salesforce customizations using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flow Builder, and administration tools.
  • Support the integration between Salesforce and external systems (APIs, middleware, ETL pipelines).
  • Optimize data structures, workflow logic, and data synchronization between Salesforce and backend systems.
  • Work with REST APIs, authentication protocols (OAuth2, SAML), and internal/external system communication.
  • Collaborate with the global DevOps team to ensure smooth CI/CD pipelines, deployment practices, and environment management.
  • Utilize Salesforce's Agentforce to build interaction flows with users.
  • Ensure high performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability across all components.
  • Support the transition of logic from Salesforce to the AWS middleware where appropriate.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and continuous improvement of the engineering practices at Epassi.

What we are looking for:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Backend Developer (Java is preferred)
  • Practical experience maintaining or integrating with Salesforce (Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flow Builder, and Salesforce internal administration tools)
  • Basic knowledge of Agentforce and building user interaction flows.
  • Experience developing RESTful APIs, backend services, and system integrations.
  • Familiarity with SAML and OAuth2 authentication standards.
  • Good knowledge of SQL, SOQL, and general data modeling principles.
  • Experience with GitHub and collaborative version control workflows.
  • Exposure to AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, etc.) is a plus.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT or data integration tools (Talend, SSIS, custom pipelines) is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of backend architecture, modular design, and clean code practices.
  • Strong analytical mindset and ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.

  • Collaborate proactively within the Engineering and Product teams throughout the development lifecycle. Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and a structured approach to complex system challenges.
  • Ensure high-quality code, follow clean architecture principles, and ensure efficient, secure data integrations.
  • Take ownership of your work and contribute to continuous improvements in processes, workflows, and system design.
  • Stay curious and adaptable, leveraging engineering trends, distributed system best practicesand new Salesforce features.
