We are a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Material Handler. This position reports to Supervisor of Shipping, Receiving & Material handling and will work in Vancouver, BC.

Dometic Marine’s headquarters are in Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada. The facility develops and manufactures hydraulic, electronic, and combustion-based products.

As Material Handler of the Vancouver team, you will be involved in supplying stock to conveyance locations and moving finished goods to appropriate warehouse stock locations. Performs cycle counts when necessary to verify inventory accuracy and performs inventory transactions in MAX MRP sys

General responsibilities

  • Transferring of raw materials and components from approved stock to applicable warehouse or conveyance location using forklifts and or cranes. Also performs MAX inventory transactions.
  • Performs the appropriate MAX transaction for receipt of goods and issuing of materials and transfer of goods are requested via material movements CF23 or stock transfers CF21 forms (forms are completed by requester).
  • Moving non-conforming materials to and from the MRB cage and performing the appropriate MAX transaction as per the MRR disposition and verification.
  • Working with both production and quality departments to collect and segregate non-conforming materials from the cell in order to prevent contamination.
  • Assigned to specific cells to delivery components and raw materials and ensuring there are no stock outs. Responsibility also includes maintaining a first in and first out process.
  • When necessary, communicate with other Material Handlers when common parts in an applicable cell inventory are low transfer from one location to another.
  • Transfer of goods from supplier boxes into bins or containers for conveyance process or compress space requirements.
  • Communicating with Tactical Buying or Sourcing Agent and verifying the count before materials are returned to the supplier with regards to MRR: Vendor Return process.
  • Perform inventory cycle counts and transactions when requested.
  • Resolve inventory discrepancy between physical counts with MAX stock.
  • Follow Part Shortage Procedure.

Skills & Requirements

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

We believe that the ideal candidate has the following qualifications and experiences:

  • Grade 12 Diploma

To be successful in this role, we believe that you possess the following skills, competencies & characteristics:

  • Trained to operate forklift and cranes and must be able to demonstrate proficient machine operation.
  • Demonstrated ability to use MAX – MRP system. Ability to make transactions, review transaction history and resolve discrepancies.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Demonstrated computer skills. Experience using MS Word and Excel
  • Familiar with production and inventory systems
  • Basic working knowledge of Material Handling – 1 year experience

Deliverables

  • Adhering to Part Shortage procedure.
  • Ensuring conveyance stock locations are maintained
  • Material Review Reports (MRR) are processed within 48hrs
